countrykids6, Jun 10, 12:51pm
well its burn two ignition coils in the last week, it burnt one out, the garage replaced it and drove about 30km and it burnt the same coil out again , any help is muchly appresheated as there is very little knowledge about the range rovers up here

bigfatmat1, Jun 10, 1:20pm
main reason for ignition coils crapping out would be worn plugs or faulty leads not a ignition module. the ign module simply holds the coil down to ground for a few ms if it was holding itto ground for to long it wouldnt run I t hink the problem lies elsewher

bigfatmat1, Jun 10, 6:07pm
Does your car not go because of the igniter or the coil! I really doubt a igniter will fix your problem of stuffing coils. You are fitting the correct coil not a ballast coil(6v)! who is looking at the car for you! Maybe you have a incorrect diagnossis.

countrykids6, Jun 10, 6:07pm
cheers ill try him first thing then

countrykids6, Jun 10, 6:08pm
tapawarea garrage are doing it for me ,

bigfatmat1, Jun 10, 6:08pm
he is nelson auto parts over the road from harvey norman in st vincent st.

bigfatmat1, Jun 10, 6:10pm
sounds like a miss diagnosis to me. igniters dont stuff coils. coils stuff igniters.

countrykids6, Jun 10, 6:11pm
oh thanks u dont happen to have his home phone do u! i think vechile really needs to go to someone with the computer soft ware to plug it into

muzz67, Jun 10, 6:18pm
Alan Hampton is his name.

countrykids6, Jun 10, 6:19pm
ill give u the full run down of what exactly the vechile is doing , monday a week ago i left wakefield and headed south towing a horse float and felt vechile was sluggish but thought it was just due to the towing weight , i got to motapeko and engine died free wheeled to a stop , once stopped a gear box fault came up and then tried to restart vechile and it just wound over and sounded as if there was no spark what so ever , then vechile put its self in low 4wd and wouldnt come out ,

then was towed to tappaera gargae where they replaced a burnt out coil and replaced all leads and spark plugs and the engine fuse which had blown .

then saturday morning same thing left wakefield towing a float got to koeroke and the vechile did exactly the same thing as befor so i had a look at the coils and again it had burnt out number 8.and but its self in 4wd low
