i have very little money because of the above purchase. now i owe alot of money to the bank, not that it is anyone elses business i work hard for what i get and budget also. this is also the most modern car i have owned at 44 years of age all my others have been almost 20 years old so its taken me a while to get style

Well done jessie. My advice would be to run it as it is for a while and save your cash. A modified exhaust done badly can really grate on your nerves.

Cam / headers & a brand name bolt on exhaust system - only way to fix that 'oooggguuleee' weird sound they make from factory buckle up for $$$

I would leave it 100% factory standerd myself, if it is that way already. It would be worth more in factory trim than butchered around with if you intend to keep it for a few years. And the novelty of a droaning pipe can wear thin after awhile unless you cannot hear from inside the car. The factory made them that way for a reason and tuned them to that as well. Thats my 2 cents worth but hey enjoy your car anyway and good on you for getting there.

Just going back to CATS, why remove them for! If its for performance, on an '04 Vehicle you won't notice much at all any difference. They are generally pretty free flowing now and don't affect at all. Only thing you can do is make the pipes bigger going in and out or buying a CAT that has larger pipes in it.
If its for sounds, well I suppose you can and it may make some difference. But you risk upsetting the engine management system, especially if the car has both an upstream and downstream O2 Sensor (Not sure if they do or not).
I'd ask around a few people who also own those cars and see what systems they have and if they have any recommendations. Of course every car is different and so is every owners tastes!

Do a cats back big bore with 2 1/2 inch pipe and medium rear mufflers. Won't be too loud. Take the cats off and you will a drone resonating in the back seats. This will give people a headache. Droning is the biggest problem caused by messing with the factory exhausts.

Hi jessie we had a VZ SV8,it had the cats removed and straight pipes put in to replace them,it also had a factory Holden big bore exhaust from where the cats were to the rear of the car,sounded very nice,not too loud,just like a good V8 should. If your going to own a V8you should have it sound like 1.

A ginga or a redhead! I think I'm in love.
Anyway I have an intake on mine, so when I floor it I get the V8 sound, but just cruising it is quiet, I like the compromise, and I can return to stock easily anytime.
