EDIT, Its actually interesting to consider, going purely on smile on your dial value some of my close to best contenders included some very cheap and unlikely candidates. * Fiat 127 * Fiat Panda soft top * Fiat 850T Camper Van (Plus a few others but they were more obvious like the Golf GTI)
While I have owned Japanese/British/Australian/Fr- ench etc it's the Italian's that make up most of the fun candidates.

Some 1995ish year Supra TRD thing 3 litre single turbo conversion, no traction at all but fairly amusing & the cockpit is like the Starship Enterprise was fun to drive - wouldnt mind one some day
Mates WRX V2 RA (5 injectors anyone!) I just sold for him, hit 15psi & 5 injectors in 2nd gear - look out the side window & everything is on FF
Pug 205Gti wrung out on a trip to Lake Heron for fishing was a gas, never seen a pair of needles move in sync so well
Mk3 Zephyr V8 - lots of laughs & some daring driving Mk3 6 - just great memories for the past few decades, so will continue with em
Big block XA coon at school was nice - smashed spicer uni's like nothing else
PA Vauxhall, feel like everything is from the jetson era
Worst, Toyota Camry's - I can almost understand suicide when driving one, especially gun metal grey - banal to a fault

Best, my 1999 Subaru Legacy B4.
Worst, a 90s Mazda B200 I took for a test drive when I worked at AA Auto Service. I went around a very gentle corner at 30k, purposely slower than I thought I had to, because I knew it wouldn't handle well and I still crossed the centre line.

Best- My current car- 99 Mazda MX5 RS- Beauty steering, good brakes, good chassis.a very satisfying drive and the ability to have a heap of fun without getting yourself or your wallet into trouble. I rate it better than my 97/98 MX5 M-edition.
Worse- Sv21 Camry wagon. Slow, poor handling, dull.it was reliable though, even with 300K on the clock.
