just went for a WOF on the bike and failed on the Headlight was told that it didnt complie to NZ stdsWTF ive owned the bike 3 yrs and have never replaced or touched the headlight in that time yet now the wof shop tells me that it doesnt complie " its not bright enough for NZ conditions"
who else has had a simlier problem with either their car or bikes,
Now I have to spend money on a NZ new headlight.

stabi360, Jun 22, 1:49pm

brokebloke1, Jun 22, 2:07pm

gunhand, Jun 22, 2:09pm
Who sold you this bike! was it new or 2nd hand!Dont ya hate it when something passes WOF for years then suddenly it no longer passes.

brokebloke1, Jun 22, 2:17pm
I bought it brand new , and yes it does piss me off would be different if id replaced the headlight but I havnt and now it doesnt complie go figure

gunhand, Jun 22, 2:20pm
Id be going back to shop for a please explain.

tonyrockyhorror, Jun 22, 2:22pm
Tell them it's bright enough if for no reason other than it can't go fast enough to outride your vision anyway. even if it was 3W.

tonyrockyhorror, Jun 22, 2:28pm
Of course, it could simply be that there's some corrosion on the terminals at some point and the bulb is only seeing 9V. More likely though is an overzealous inspector.

Have a look at the VIRM section below. There's no hard and fast rule and presumably his determination didn't involve an evening inspection.

You have the option of going elsewhere too. That might be the fastest option if you feel he's just being a pedantic anal-retentive prick.

brokebloke1, Jun 22, 3:08pm
at least he didnt pickup on my illegal mufflers

m16d, Jun 22, 3:15pm
Get rid of the thing and get a Honda.

stevo2, Jun 22, 3:21pm
Hell yeah, tell me about it. I've got that same problem with tyres!

matarautrader, Jun 22, 3:22pm
Do tractors need lights!

movnon, Jun 22, 4:10pm
Just a suggestion -- l h drive vehicles dip to the right, r h drive vehicles should dip to the left. Maybe it was imported from the states with l h sealed beam units & that is the issue!

sabbath-black, Jun 22, 4:32pm
um yes

brokebloke1, Jun 22, 4:41pm
what does this have to do with motorbike lights

brokebloke1, Jun 22, 4:43pm
I ask the dealer this they said that they change the headlights to NZ stds when the bike was first vin, wof, rego in NZ

gunhand, Jun 22, 4:44pm
I was in a large tractor today, from a rough count it had 15 lights on it, so yea guess they must.

vic008, Jun 22, 5:08pm
Just what we need. Another bloody noisy piece of American shit!

sabbath-black, Jun 22, 5:53pm

xs1100, Jun 22, 7:08pm

gtcorty, Jun 24, 5:00pm
vic008 must have been slapped around by the bandido's, its ok boy all harley riders arent like that.

gtcorty, Jun 25, 2:50pm
ohh and vic008 dont forget to tell mummy whr you are.

tonyrockyhorror, Jun 25, 3:06pm
Man, you're a dreamer thinking everyone who thinks hardley fergusons are overrated piles of crap must just be unable to afford one and therefore be jealous. It couldn't possibly just be because they ARE overrated and desireable mostly only to tongue-chewing oafs and weekend wannabe hard men like dentists.

offrd1, Jun 25, 3:33pm
Dear o me very sad really.i bet i would do a lot more miles than just about most people on here.you are full of crap and yes i have owned many bikes, the old Harley is still probably the best[ for me ] to do the big miles.I find the knockers are usually not the riders and no i'm not a tongue chewing oaf,,sound more like you to be honest.also i never seem to get passed by all these incredible bikes where are they.immmmm and a ps i don't care what people ride long as they ride not just talk about it and are not smart arses

sifty, Jun 25, 3:38pm
To be fair, the hardly blokes DO put the miles in, always lots at rallies.
