Thats what I was beginning to think . my 2.8 gets 'driven' and is always late in being serviced . but it gets done. I've got a new cambelt sitting in the backseat for it but its been sitting there for 1000's of km's past the recommended change over km. I'll get around to it. I am anal on checking it over though . I open the hood up quite often to check levels and servicability of stuff . tightness of bolts, belts ect.
Thats the thing aye . I reckon there are two groups of people that frequent this board - those that are not strangers to spending time under their bonnet and those that only frequent there when they have to. Knowing your donk, its support systems and quirks ect breeds a familiarity and instills a bit of confidence so when problems do arise . they aren't as big as they would be if you come from the second group of dudes, hehe!
Anyway . yeah - my red truck gets 'driven hard and put away wet' and it just keeps on going. Touch wood.

Yes, I can see how that would create a problem or two but this one came complete with the valve clearances already set. Good to hear positive feedback for Kiwi heads from someone who's actually fitted them.

I still have my old BJ73 with a 13BT in it. If I win Lotto this week I'm going to order a crate motor and trans from Toyota for it.
