Evos and Rx-2s are definitely alright. That thing of friendly.prawn's looks like a duck gone wrong.
There's actually one of them being built in Auckland. Not orginal but my understanding is its a kit car made out of a lot of oringal parts.Dying to go have a look at it when its finished. Never seen a real one before. http://www.youtube.com/watch!v=IBG9MPnpXF4&feature=related
It doesnt even have a drive shaft. :-)
Pure sex on wheels.

I beg to differ. Grunt is pretty much the main criteria that makes a car fun to drive for me. Some gutless little 'sporty' heap aint gonna do it.
Edited by bellky at 9:29 am, Mon 23 Jul Good on ya. My XR8 walks all over little hairdresser's cars.

Kewl. Did they look like the original Cheetah! Hard to tell from that picture, that kinda looks like a modified MX5!

each to their own but that looks like puke! styling wasn't this builders forte

They were a lot bigger than a MX5, more of a D/E-type inspired design. Easy to build and modify and oh so sweet to drive with a healthy Chev under the bonnet! The original builders still have a website. http://www.cheetahcars.co.nz/

Take it easy. It's just a shelby replica with a bonnet hump.

yeah lots of kits cars back then were based on the HQ subfame chassi. I had a corvette replica built on an hq chassi.Real heap though lol
