Needed cheering up a bit during that venting session & it helped a lot.
Getting idea's on where/prices /what to expect etc was a great help.
Pity someone had to complain about my thread & deny Trademe of another auction success fee.

Looks like I will be going with the garages suggestion as being the lesser of many unknown evils
S/h unserviced /unknown units of that age & type are potentially getting pretty dodgy, Toyota want about 1k just for parts, suggestions of unserviced units will still need a full pro service therefore pushing the price back up again
Of what I have found inTrademe SEARCH & save, works out to about the same price as the garage but not available till the middle of next week at the earliest.

ARRHhhh I spose at least while I wait for the Surf, I can get on to sorting that awd Nissan & get that back on the road.
Owe the stepson another favor now for borrowing his car for the weekend on short notice (he's a hard core Linux geek & 'borrowing stuff' ain't easy/ never mind, HIS car)

Around $500 reseated /calibrated /fitted/ pump reset etc.
Other bits like top pump seals/ tappets /oil + filter change etc will have to wait
Cheap as chips .oh . How I HATE that expression

BUT yea, it's going to run about as good as it can get, after this lot.
Just as well it's mostly only a long trip/runaboutthese days & not the heavy haulage & hill farm beast it was before, so should be good for a fair few more k's now.

Can but it's a bit trickier,
Fair enough admin getting jumpy if ppl try to do deals on the msg brd without going through TM, but I was happy to do it via an auction.

Rebuilt the back leaf springs on his Narvara late last year for no charge.
He did what I wanted & I just supplied the gas & directions .

I think it's called "teamwork" or something like that. . Not sure aye, it's harder to find these days

Yeah I dont blame them. Just somtimes works out that you go thru trade me auction. But you find the parts first on the message board. Sounds like a bloody good person to have as a neighbour.
