OK so they're operating at a 1kph limit (sometimes a 7kph one, that's what +/- means).
So!

*DOUBLE FACEPALM*
You need to look up what the term "LIE" means.
But really, what I said was at a level an 8year old should have been able to understand. (Not meant to be insulting just pointing out the reality)
If you can't follow that I can't help. Feel free to continue to comment on a subject you don't understand if you wish, its a free (sort of) country.

And to the people complaining about accuracy - they get regularly sent down to Wellington to be re calibrated, which is rarely needed, and when is needed only by very minute speeds. Nothing that would would change much in the real world. Some people really do need to get their facts straight instead of bleating on.

I understand perfectly. I'm just enjoying watching you dance, changing your line to a new one as defending the old one gets too hard.

Jazz we could argue forever about this theoretical 1 kph tolerance which you espouse among your utterances. But, I am not going to.Instead I suggest you set yourself up as an advocate for those who get caught by this. thing.Advertise and get clients and go to court with them and plead for them using your previous accurate calculations (applicable of course to their specific vehicle, the climate, placement or other wise of the detecting vehicle and so on and so on). there could be a gold mine there! When you have your protocols in place together with your calculations - perhaps a computer prog that can be used in court etc. then let me know and I will join with you and we can set up a franchisethroughout NZ.Sounds like a good one to me!A way of being a revenue gatherer from an established group of revenue gatherers. What you reckon!Prep a business case. when you have it let me know and I'll tell you where to send it.I am also part of an entrepreneurial organisation that fosters good business.

Oh my goodness. what part of accurate to +/- 3km/h is not a fact! (aside from it being technically slightly more than that)
This is what the manufacturer themselves have said. It doesn't matter how accurate most of them may be most of the time. Its still a lie to say a tolerance is 4km/h without taking that accuracy into account. Its not O.K if its just some people being ticketed on the basis of a lie.
This actually brings us back to the whole stupid of the situation. Surely people must realise something is wrong when we the accuracy of radar equipment equates to 75% of the tolerance Police use!

LOL, I like this (almost as much as I like to argue). I will give it some thought. Thanks.

Jazz.I am serious about the business case. You are clearly an intelligentperson (albeit strongly opinionated!) and I do literally have association with a business "encouragement" company. After all it is not essential to have a law degree to argue in a court or otherjudicial places, especially if you concentrate and become proficient in a narrow band of expertise. From reading and being amused and provoked (to thought - never anger) by the content of your posts I am beginning to suspect you have a narrow expertise as mentioned that could be usefully encouraged.
