This is why I like the Fathers Day Drags - V8's for me thanks. I can appreciate the speed / acceleration the 4s 6s and Rx's can get now - it is damn impressive.But to me they still (mostly) make a horrible noise, I just don't enjoy watching them.Same on the street - to me a rotary doesn't 'pulse hard' (or however it goes), it just sounds like a weedeater (smells similar too) ! To others V8 sound like crap -each to their own. To me, V8 with open headers is the way to go :-) I sound old when I say its not just about the speed, its the noise / look of the vehicles - I'm not fussed on funny cars etc either, as I don't relate to them as a 'car' that you could potentially drive on the road.

All good, i must be getting old to as my grammer wasn't to great in that post, when you have all walks of life slapping 20-30k on the counter asking you to build them a engine regardless of being a 4, 6, 8, or rotor the same skill, passion and expertise is required in order to achieve great results,i found Aussie's wanting a 8 build would always have something good to say about the buzz box in the corner and a rotor man normally drives a ford or holden as a family car, just speaking from own experiencers in oz
rubbish. There are lots of people out there (myself included) who would rather listen to a screaming rota, or straight six turbo 2jz motor rather than a v8. Fathers day drags was disappointing for me, half of the cars being bogans in their holden street cars. i was hoping to see a fast import the whole day. Yep agree. And also got no problems with people liking things different. Plus, I'd be the last one to knock rota's and inliners . cause I don't want to have to explain to my mates why I got spanked by a 2 litre, lol! I don't care too much for how they sound either (but outta both of them - like the rota more, only because my boys have them) but like an uncapped 8 over any of them. Funny cars and Rails . yeah but nah . in little doses and not too often. Wild arsed Supercharged Door Cars! Ummmm yep! In big doses please. Same for Super Sedan type stuff too. I guess stuff I can relate to.

Funny thread to read haha. And as its been said 'each to there own' and a V8 generally does not interest me unless its special or different in a way that I like and the V8 based events just do my head in watching a shit load of Falcodores & other heavy tanks that sound like a fat man farting, slowing going into the distance for around 13-17 seconds all day just to see around 10 cars worth watching! but I am sure a lot of people have the same view but the other way around.
