They are slowly creeping up the ladder each year, new sport compact record today from Joe Signorelli in the Gas Motorsports Celica with a 6.30 at 365kph and then he went 6.26 later in the day! so not to bad foramotor that is less than 3.5L when a good percentage of V8s need 6L or more with forced induction to do this and with 50 years of practice haha! http://www.youtube.com/watch!v=_8c-0vV95x4 And then the Pac Performance chicken cooker rotary thing had a pretty good day to smashing out a nice 6.57 at 340kph! that is getting close to the rotary world record to! http://www.youtube.com/watch!v=Dh-H-m4WkR8

Ok thats a quick rotor but if you spent the money that these guys spend the rotor would still be on the line when the v8 was popping the shutes

Your last word there the only thing you said right.

Gosh yes getting to 227mph in 1/4 of a mile sure is boring. I do that every morning going to work.

Yeah they do . but really . how can you relate to that sorta stuff . those sorta cars! You can't see what they are supposed to represent unless you see the name on their excuse for a windscreen. They are all the same except for their paint. See one - seen them all. Their runs are predictable too - they either go well or they get it spectacularly wrong. Either way - ho hum. Alcohol Funny's they are a little bit better . more RPM and their blower whine is more brutal, but still . What about same drive trains but with standard bodies - now that would be a little bit more exciting. ProMody type stuff but with limits on how much you are allowed to do with the body profile. And for the record . nothing (to me) sounds better than an 8 at full noise but you need to respect what technology is doing for these little engines. Its taken decades to get a few tenths more out of the Hemi yet these new kids on the block are advancing in 'seconds' quicker every few years (at a guess)

Yeah true, people who are into rotaries will turn up to watch rotas. I know there are a lot of complaints from rotary owners who don't like the fact that at the 4'n'rota nats drags now they have v8s racing at Meremere, who wants to watch that if you turned up to see 4s and rotas.
