What places in Tauranga do shortening of shocks! I need mine an inch shorter.

Not sure but why do you need shorter shocks
bellky,
Sep 22, 3:03pm
Why do you think Sherlock, to make springs captive.
shazza541,
Sep 22, 3:04pm
yip have got a replacement shock with shorter dimensions but still 1" too long at extended length
johnf_456,

They probably have lowered there vehicle, there is a hint.
bellky,
Sep 22, 3:05pm
Is it hole at the bootom and pin at top!
intrade,
Sep 22, 3:05pm
you got no idea dont you . there is no sutch thing as a place who shortens shocks. You buy shorter shocks and lowering springs that are shorter also
bellky,
Sep 22, 3:06pm
Haha, sorry it's you that has no idea lol.
shazza541,
Sep 22, 3:08pm
yes there are places that shorten shocks, you obviously have no experience in this. i have shorter shocks but they are still too long. I know Autolign do it but they are quite expensive for what it is
splinter67,
Sep 22, 3:08pm
Dont worry about the trolls on here why not just close the shock up a bit
shazza541,
Sep 22, 3:09pm
pin on top but crossbar on bottom
splinter67,
Sep 22, 3:10pm
The shock dose not need to be at full stretch
bellky,
Sep 22, 3:11pm
I'm not sure in Tauranga but I had some done in Penrose $50 for the two.
shazza541,
Sep 22, 3:11pm
the shock reaches full length when you jack the car up off the ground. this is when the spring becomes uncaptive
shazza541,
Sep 22, 3:12pm
you're clearly a tool
bellky,
Sep 22, 3:12pm
Give up dude, you're looking silly lol.
splinter67,
Sep 22, 3:20pm
So you havent got a cert for this have you buy the correct shocks but hang on theres been a avi commented on here surely he would know if what you are doing is legal
shazza541,
Sep 22, 3:25pm
seriously man give up. everything you have said so far is 100% wrong. Why would you try get a cert with uncaptive springs. You get them legal, which shortened shocks are, then you get a cert. Which is what I am doing.
petermcg,
Sep 22, 3:27pm
What about just get some longer springs.
splinter67,
Sep 22, 3:30pm
Oh well go get it done instead of coming on here with your stupid ideas most of us are mechanics who know nothing unlike you who knows everything

i am sure the cops will slap on a pinky . splinter67 intrade is listening to Take a Chance on Me Abba by Listen and Download Rough Silk [Amarok]

For plain lowering springs a cert is not required, unless the lowest structural point is less than 100mm from the ground. As already discussed, they have to be captive for WOF. Suspension with adjustable perches (adjustable suspension, adjusties, coilovers) require a cert.

go down to the auto sparky on third ave. (Paul!) there does the certs so he probably knows who can rebuild shocks. there are firms that can revalve stuff like koni and ohlins shocks so depending on what sort of shock it is then it may be possible

Gammans engineering i think it's called. On birch ave.
