Won't do diddly squat to this engine in question, or any engine with solid tappets.

You simply remove the rocker cover with a WARM engine not cold and rotate the crankshaft till the TDC lines up. You can now adjust8 valves. Rotate another 360 Deg and adjust the last 8 valves. Takes approx 40min to do. Clearance is .003" in008" ex.

We used to adjust valve clearance every second service religiously.

hands up those who were taught to adjust by degrees - before the combo socket degree adjusters were produced, and can still remember how to find how many degrees were required
