Slightly off topic, but if the front part of the roll cage is in fact hidden (within the headlining and side pillar trim and is basically invisible from outside the car) does it need homologation! I am intrigued as the rules for cages assume that they INTRUDE within the passenger compartment.Just putting in a main hoop and rear stays does not need MSNZ homologation, so if you can't see the cage top screen bar and bars above the door openings and down the A pillars, does it actually exist! Mine was built to the previous specs so I have to get an engineers report to get it passed, but the above query is still valid.A Triumph Stag for example has a built in roof T bar and is OK on the road without extra paperwork.

Road rules would probably be treated very different to drag/race rules in this way .
likeliness of an accident & the likely speed of that accident.
