I got some 38mm the other day from a scrap steel place, they bought it out of some old stock somewhere cheap. Was $20 a length to, stoked.

Most use Nom Bore 32 Black Pipe ummm about 3.2mm wall (Medium) and about 43mm OD. Thats the stuff you are talking about, aye! The next smaller size down is NB25 Med Black Pipe. Its got a 3.2 wall on it also. I can't remember the OD though. There was that 38 point something that had the a thinner wall, aye! About 2.5mm wall! Steel and Tube used to sell it but I don'r know if they still do. They still might!

if its to MSNZ main hoop must be 44.5 x 2.5 or50 x 2.0mm all other members 38.1 x 2.5mmNZTM-Q29 or ITM-MSNZ-Q29

oh i had heard that the reason they went to the 44.5 was that 38mm wasnt being made any more! i'd prefer to use 44 for the main hoop and 38 for the back stays and harness bar if i can.

Haha you Chevy Jock. Hey . I sold a set of Strange Engineering 40 Spline Full Floaters today. They were going into a (I think) 632ci BBC powered TS Nova (again . I think) Check out the 9 Inch head I have for sale . it might have too many splines for your current setup but I can sort that out wiff my BOC MIG'r ;))) Woof.

The current requirements for a MSNZ homologated roll cage reqiures a 44.5mm OD x 2.6mm wall thickness tube for a main hoop, the rest of the cage can built using 38.1mm OD x 2.6mm wall also, both tubes require a tensile strength of 350mpa or higher. They CANNOT be built with just any old tube, NZ tube mills manufacture a specific tube which meets MSNZ requirements that is available from steel distributors such as, steel traders, fletcher steel and of course NZTM themselves. They also can supply a complete material data sheet that is required for homolgation.

yes 38mm is still available. The main reason why they changed the requirements to a 44mm main hoop was to bring our regulations into line with most other countrys

So that 44mm stuff . is it the same as NB32 Black Pipe Medium! The measures up at 43OD and has 3.2 walls. Or is it totally different stuff! Its still MS though, aye!

Roll cage tubing is a completely different material to NB32. If you were to build a cage to MSNZ specs out of NB32, it will not pass inspection, so would not be approved.
Drag racing is a separate governing body. Their cages must be 1 5/8" by 1/8" wall mild steel or .083 moly (09/10 rulebook). Seems a little silly to me, but thems the rules.
A moly cage will pass both MSNZ and NZDRA, where-as a mild steel NZDRA cage will not meet MSNZ spec.
I don't know the IHRA drag specs.

Decades upon decades of dragracing . with the odd big arsed prang among them . and not many have died . with most of those that lived to stage another day thanking NB32 for it. Not good enuff for ya! So no Lux bro!

use pvc pipeing az a roll cage i know it wont help in a crash but it people think its real lol .i know cause i tryed it az a joke it looked kool

Has the stuff you are selling been laced with gold or something! How come you can by NB32 for under half of what you're asking . and your stuff hasn't as much steel in it plus its a metre shorter!
