I just managed to sign up, wasnt to hard. took a while to get into site though, been trying for a few hours.

rob_man, Oct 1, 7:23pm
I think they will need to upgrade their servers, I had a look around in there earlier on and it was running a bit slow and some bits wouldn't load.
It looks promising though.

mantagsi, Oct 1, 7:25pm
Seems ok I guess. One thing I don't like is that it is far too horizontally compressed. I looked at a couple of car listings and it is very annoying to read! Trademe is similar, but not too bad. It will be interesting to see if throwing dollars at this new venture automatically makes it sucessful - will go have a nosy in a week or two to see how it looks

at the end of the day its up to us to make wheedle work
sick of tm fees! this your chance to do somthing about it or u cant complain about fees again lol

my only complaint is you cant ask the seller a question! im sure that will change tho

incar., Oct 1, 8:09pm
you can now, i tried to sign up with the user name trademe lols it was taken

wrxnz1, Oct 1, 8:22pm

v8_mopar, Oct 1, 8:54pm
na the xr6 wagon but still cant get pics up. Im not giving in tho! trade me are making to much money. It cant all be about take take take, soon trade me will be like the government!

kcf, Oct 2, 5:53am
Looked last night, got a series of 404 errors. Will look again in a week or so to see if it works then.

xpfairmont, Oct 2, 7:04am
I think they would have been silly to sped to much up front, I see shiny new shops open and close the whole time, because they spent too much up front. They then carry that debt for a very long time.

I'm going to give it more time.

attitudedesignz, Oct 2, 8:20am
Useless, only allowed 12 letters in username, pffft.

chris_051, Oct 2, 9:05am
Typical tall poppy syndrome kiwi attitude in here.
Trademe is the easiest layout to use compared to sella and that shitfight eBay so not suprising the layout they have is similar.
I'm going to sign up and list a few car parts, beats the daylight robbery from trademe

socram, Oct 2, 9:52am
Fat lot of use having a property section with a link to list that doesn't work.I would have thought they would have checked all links before launching. However, will give them a go to encourage competition.

attitudedesignz - What is the problem with a 12 character user name!Take into account 52 Alpha characters and 10 numeric, isn't that enough!

62x62x62x62x62x62x62x62x62x62x-
62x62 permutations.

smac, Oct 2, 11:13am
Heh.you guys still want to try this thing! They've blown it.it'll only fly if they fix EVERYTHING, and then relaunch under a different name.

quickstitch, Oct 2, 2:23pm
thought i would check it out, i'm all for a cheaper auction site but can't even get on, site crashed.

smac, Oct 2, 2:35pm
You looked at the link, right!

1ollie, Oct 2, 3:10pm
Its still down. It should only get more and more interest as time goes as this place continues to ream you in the ass at every turn for success fees, listing fees and then when you want some help with something you either don't get it,they say they don't get involved in such matters or tell you to go to the police. But yes here I am still here using I guess as at the moment there is no better option for what I want. Grrrr

gunhand, Oct 2, 3:18pm
Well they wont do any good if people dismiss it just because they have a few issues. Have none of you ever done, made, rebuilt or repaired anything without having a few issues before its sorted out %100.
Sure, perhaps they should have sorted some things out but maybe they didnt really know what would happen till they opened the sight.
And to say TM has the monopoly because they have thousands of items for sale is odd as Im sure they didnt on the first day. If know one supports a new entity of course it will fail. You cant moan about TM then moan about the competion as well.
But theres plenty of hype about it so time will tell.

smac, Oct 2, 4:44pm
There's only one real explanation here: somebody tried to make a quick buck, slapping a website together with no proper design or testing. Very common when a developer decides they can run a business, forgetting that they are a developer and know SFA about anything to do with launching a business.
People moan about the fees here (dunno why), but in return you get a site that has the highest possible views for your product. TM has an exemplary history stability, it's waaay faster than ebay or other contenders.
You get what you pay for, and this new site weren't prepared to pay/charge.

scoobeey, Oct 2, 7:20pm
true but if someone gives you a new car to try and it grinds to a hault all you do is go pfffft!. Egg on face BIG TIME:(

wrxnz1, Oct 2, 7:29pm
one question you build a website how are you ment to fix problems see how stable the server is etc without any visitors to the site! u cant you have to launch it to get the thousands of traffic to see what needs to be fixed saying the site has failed already and that it has no chance against tm
is like buying somthing from the wharehouse and it breaks then you say im not shopping there again but we all know you always go back to the wharehouse!

socram, Oct 2, 7:36pm
Links that don't work are not a server problem.I have had enough problems with my own websites - but they are all down to me.

The wheedle site has been suspended due to technical difficulties.

wrxnz1, Oct 2, 7:41pm
yes i know and i think its good they have done that lets hope they sort it all out before they relaunch it

morrisjvan, Oct 2, 8:10pm
you only get one chance to make a first impression .

v8_mopar, Oct 2, 9:37pm
yea but don't judge a book by its cover

evotime, Oct 3, 4:19am
The way we will know it is working properly is when trademe deletes all these threads mentioning it, at the moment it's in their favor to have everyone visiting wheedle getting annoyed at it.
