You test it. Load testing, UAT, intrusion testing.none of these things were done. It is entirely possible to fully test a websites stability and capabilities before it is made public. For a site that is expecting people to register and actually hand over passwords and money it is a MUST. These guys did a quick build, said a quick prayer and released it. Muppets.

Site has been suspended indefinitely due to major security issues - as per the report in this morning's Herald.Seems that it was very insecure and people could alter buy now prices of other auctions etc.

its gone befor it even started redirects to a fruit website now. strange did so when i used the old link from browser .weedle. maybe because of the h missing. http://www.fruitrunners.co.nz/ if you get a stupide name like that you would also get the ones similar to redirect to the correct place. I got no mutch hope for that site personally.

http://www.wheedle.co.nz/ thats the right link but you see what i mean .they built another titanic and there is 100 of dead sites if you google tradeit lists loads dead competition. zillion is another dead site i remember of the top of my head.

I would spend the money building an app or programe you can sell to TradeMe to make their business better, listing re-loader etc. Probably make more money that way. Although people feel like TM are ripping them so sooner or later the pentulime will swing.
