sorry splinter, I worked for an insurance company for years and these guys are right.

If you have no wof because your brakes dont work and you crash into someone, then no payout. If you have no wof because your brakes dont work and the car is stolen (or something similar not directly related to no brakes) then the claim should go through.

Always an exception to the rule though I guess as not every situation is alike

Effectivley EVERY Builing in christchurch with unpaid rates-is a failed insurance claim.
[Now as to the warrant on some of dem buildings and the inquiries in to the mechanics work and the warrant issuers-well-same as the no brakes/no warrant-but TOTALLY diferrent from the no rego]
