hoping hoping hoping. Nah, silver fern. LOL Graval wins sorry! But you will be in our area again! I see the road closeure notices are out. Hope to catch up with you, what machine are you in this year! still got the cossy!

sr2, Oct 15, 9:26pm
Sadly the Cosevo is gone but happily we've built up a 135I Beemer. Easy to spot us, it's blue and the only one entered this year.

clark20, Oct 15, 9:35pm
Nice pic you have in the calendar

sr2, Oct 15, 9:38pm
LOL; and they didn't ask me to take my shirt off and flex my "abb"!

clark20, Oct 15, 9:41pm
Quite low profile tyres on it as well, with our backroads and potholes I wouldn't think it would be an advantage

sr2, Oct 15, 9:53pm
We??

clark20, Oct 15, 9:59pm
Cool, thinking about it 17" is quite small these days, I used to race on 14" A008Rs

Will be heading out to do some photos in HB sections. Done plenty of bike and truck stuff but rally cars will be something new.

+1 :) Gutted I won't be here for the Silver Fern this year, Dad's had to find another co driver but will be following it from Germany.

socram, Oct 16, 4:21pm
Good to see you at Pukekohe last week!Car sounded fantastic and good to see you doing circuits as well as the motorkhana.

Sorry sr2, I can't see me spectating at all this year.Targa has gradually morphed in to mainly moderns, rather than classics and the oddballs.

pollymay, Oct 16, 4:29pm
That and a lot of them seem to drive like nanas. Plus many of them have a "I'm better than you" complex, last time I talked to one that was doing it he was telling me how to setup my car, how everything I was doing wrong, wrong car, wrong this, wrong that. Wiped the floor with him and his turdy little turbo buzzbomb then he had a sulk and went home.

ola_bitchola1, Oct 16, 5:23pm
Will be there again starting you from the line on stage one

sr2, Oct 16, 6:12pm
Yeah it's got so much faster and harder over the years that it's very hard to keep a classic running for the whole event.

sr2, Oct 16, 6:25pm
LOL; sadly as with most sports motorsport also has its fair share of tossers. Sounds like you must be running a very fast & well developed car, have you ever thought of joining in and winning a Targa or two!

sr2, Oct 16, 6:35pm
Thanks mate; they just couldn??

ola_bitchola1, Oct 16, 6:44pm
Will be sporting a rather obvious facial hair arrangement lots of dress up antics again you may remember us in our pjs at one stage and stubbies and wifebeaters at taihape

sr2, Oct 16, 6:50pm
We all worry about you lot.!

ola_bitchola1, Oct 16, 6:52pm
Its the only thing that keeps us sane starting to hurt our wallets more and more fuel allowance hasnt changed in 5 years doing more ks every year

mgmad, Oct 16, 7:57pm
Cheers socram, good to catch up indeed, although jetlag started to kick in on the way home. Car does go well now with the supercharger :) Long time since I've been to Pukekohe I must admit.

Have to agree on the Targa, I have started to lose interest in it with the moderns and distinct lack of classics now. If classics can manage the Silver Fern there's no reason they shouldn't be able to manage Targa! ;)

kcf, Oct 17, 6:01am
How big is the field at Targa this year!

sr2, Oct 17, 6:25am
About 60 cars are entered, approx 50% are classics with the rest split roughly between modern 2WD and all comers 4WD. The biggest field I can remember was around 160 cars a good 10 or so years back!

socram, Oct 17, 8:12am
I think there used to be well over 200 cars a few years back!

sr2, Oct 17, 8:47am
Could well be right mate, I guess the smaller numbers are just a sign of the economic times.

kcf, Oct 17, 9:37am
Yeah, while it is a good event, it's one hell of an expensive event, and there aren't as many well off managing director types around as there were before the economy did the nose dive.
