I have a fixed back bucket seat to install in my car, have the appropriate rails to suit (made for my car and this seat by KW - seat is also KW). Since the rails are not custom and I am using original holes & bolts do I need a cert for the seat! Its also a 4door so doesnt need to be reclinable.

1ollie, Nov 9, 2:33pm
Yes it needs to be certed! its not a OEM seat or rails so needs certification

bellky, Nov 9, 2:37pm
no cert required as you are mounting to og mounting points.

1ollie, Nov 9, 2:42pm
Take it for a WOF at 90%+ of WOF places and see if your still saying that

bellky, Nov 9, 2:43pm
i'm not here to argue with people who don't know what they're talking about.

Theres a couple of certifiers in hamilton, Why dont you give one of them a call and see what they say. Their word is better than most peoples on the net.

Right. So 50/50. Have either of you got a WOF with bucket seat without cert!

1ollie, Nov 9, 2:48pm
Im sure your not but ive seen this situation many times through work and they have all been certified even 2 of my own cars so if your correct then many people have been miss led!
Care to show me and others the part in the LVVTA guide! ive tryed to find it but cant

if you really want to know. why don't you do some proper research on your own instead of asking on here. i owe you nothing fool

bellky, Nov 9, 2:52pm
this is a common misunderstanding - i can't be bothered finding the relevant tract atm but it's there and op should do his homework.

i'm just telling ya's what i know - i don't work for ya. eos

WTF, dont answer a thread if you are just going to insult people. I asked for a cert/wof guy who may use this MB to answer the Q, not any random person. If you cant back up your answer then dont answer. I checked the LVVTA website and couldnt find anything saying it needs a cert or doesnt so just thought I'd try on here if anyone has done it before or knows.

shuddupowh, Nov 9, 2:54pm
Most Qs I have I've answered myself but looking on the website but couldnt find anything about bucket seats using original mounting holes. Instead of relying on dickheads who think they are the sh-t and know it all, I will just ring the LVVTA business.

bellky, Nov 9, 2:56pm
i can back up my answer ultimately - i just sure as hell can't be bothered at the mo

1ollie, Nov 9, 2:56pm
Well one thing we have got from this is that bellky you are a f*king boynuts chump and need to grow up! you clearly dont know

bellky, Nov 9, 2:57pm
i know i'm right

poppajn, Nov 9, 3:55pm
I don,t know at all, but I,M sure as hell keen to know when you do gat the right answer from the righ people, be sure to let us know. Good luck.

Ask a certifier, their word is the last one you need. and the information they give is free and correct. If they do not know the can get the correct info. Better than 15 guesses on here.

In other words
NOT a home made seat/brackets etc
Very SIMILAR seating heights etc to the OEM seat
Factory certed (aftermarket factory included)
***
OEM floor mounting points used.
OR (if you want simple terms)
Certed / Direct bolt / & of a core design very similar to OEM

bellky, Nov 10, 1:13pm
no that's not what it says exactly
