If you read the garage owner's post again (you need to read bewteen the lines by the way.), he was very diplomatic about explaining the problems and left it to the customer to make a decision on what to do.

I gave ample opportunity for them to resolve this it sat in their workshop for 5 days the 2nd time in which time they did not even test drive the car and avoided us then this all started after I picked up my car.

And you weren't abusive or swearing at him in any of those texts!

Sounds like, after hearing both sides of the story, you have multiple issues with your car as explained by the owner, you elected to do the cheapest repair option in the hopes it would be enough to fix it.

Unfortunately it wasn't enough, and the car still smokes, amongst other issues. you've gotten angry at the garage, they've responded in kind and now you've told everyone here about it too. I don't believe that its likely that the valve stem seals have not been replaced as you have accused the garage.

The other two mechanics you took it too were only guessing based on the info you gave them. Unfortunately, cars can be this way, more than one thing can cause smoking and you might just have to lump it and either get it fixed or sell it (I recommend sell)

The only thing thing the garage has done wrong is agreeing to work that wasn't a sure bet to fix the smoking, as I'm sure they tried to explain to you. Sometimes the most likely cause isn't the only fault. Sorry bad luck

Were you prepared to pay for it to be resolved! If they have already replaced the valve stem seals, the next thing to do is the other faults as they advised you, which you didn't want to pay for. Rock and a hard place

trinket87, Nov 4, 1:03pm
I never swore or abused him in my texts just said that if he didn't want to compromise that i would be happy to take it much further, mta, court whatever I needed to do.

His top mechanic said it is definitely the stem valves to us. He only mentioned other problems the 2nd time around.

a.woodrow, Nov 4, 1:05pm
Why would he compromise though! If you have other issues with the vehicle, it isn't actually the garages fault

mugenb20b, Nov 4, 1:13pm
What about verbally!

a.woodrow, Nov 4, 1:15pm
Sorry mugen looks like we are dealing with an expert question dodger here

treachug, Nov 4, 1:26pm
yep.not even 24hrs later & its on the way down.
Like written before, dont really think the message boards are the correct outlet for this.

stephenb1, Nov 4, 1:35pm
anyone work for the aa on here, has it been checked.not all car repairers up up to the mark nowadays with so many cheap jappers landed here. ihope the courts finddings are put up after all it would be good to see hows telling porkys.

stephenb1, Nov 4, 1:37pm
whos telling porkes[sorry]

mugenb20b, Nov 4, 1:45pm
Yep, I feel sorry for the garage having to deal with her.

johnf_456, Nov 4, 1:50pm
They are both as bad as each other, depends which way you want to look at it

lukeys19, Nov 4, 1:53pm
Can you put the full conversation from the txt please (all of the txt messages from both sides) so we understand the full story not just ur side of it. as it is not far to accuse someone when we are only getting you bad mouthing them. And stop avoiding the question as it has been asked before

lilmissunshine1, Nov 4, 1:56pm
Sorry johnF but I disagree with you as she is the only one who is continuing with this ridiculous spectacle! I would like to see the rest of the txt conversations as I am picking the one she chose to post was the one he'd sent when he'd finally had enough of her!

johnf_456, Nov 4, 1:58pm
Like i said, i am sitting on the fence on this one. I can see faults on both sides.

mugenb20b, Nov 4, 1:59pm
Can you explain why the garage is at fault!

johnf_456, Nov 4, 2:01pm
Not saying they are, but mistakes have occured on both. There is not enough evidence from both sides to decide

alan1111, Nov 4, 2:04pm
This is why i cringe when i see a Mitsy GDI drive into the workshop. Hate emCould not pay me to own 1.

tgray, Nov 4, 2:12pm
I wonder why Trademe haven't pulled this thread by now!

kazbanz, Nov 4, 2:47pm
OP by the simple fact you failed to answer the questions posted above i get a clear picture of the situation.
Rather than making slanderous accusations on here why not simply pay the $65.00 and go to the MVDT.

zephyrheaven, Nov 4, 2:53pm
Wow, some people never learn - DONT open the bonnet on a GDI - no garage is that quiet a set of tyres & some brake pads on something else would be so much easier.hell a clutch on a GTiR Pulsar was easier back in the day

pebbles61, Nov 4, 3:02pm
Time to put the kettle on!

a.woodrow, Nov 4, 3:38pm
Now you're just bein silly.

chook90, Nov 4, 3:40pm
Seems to me that the OP has absolutely nothing but incoherent ramblings and rhetoric to support her claim.
The workshop in question on the other hand has what seems to be a reasonable explanation that fits with what most know about GDi Mitsis.

Instead of taking a case to a dispute tribunal the OP is waffling on trying to influence the court of public opinion and in doing so damaging the reputation of a workshop which would appear to have given sound advice and there is no evidence to suggest that they had in any way misrepresented the work undertaken.
