yeah.the car looks like a winner
I hear what your saying tgray re Camaro, however a c5 is in my price bracket.
The silver car was just indicative of the model carstauranga.Im thinkin red, yellow or dark blue. Red maybe the first choice.
One guy offered the opinion of not buying aZ06 and recommending looking at a base hatchback coupe in auto.why! He reakoned the tallgearing.6 speed manual not so cool for around town, kiwi roads! He said the manuals were harder to sell which I found surprising.
Also.jap import c5 vs usa sourced one.views on that! The japs have the right headlights, and apparently the suspension is set up better for the camber found on jap/nz rds. Any pitfalls around a jap import sourced C5!

the base car is around 350hp but it'd be easy enough to get it up to the 400hp+ if one felt it was needed.

I would just get a USA corvette. The headlights on the camaro's need no adjustment (think it's the same on the vette's). You would get a pretty good C5 for $15,000 USA, but having said that, there are some really cheap ones on trademe. Unless your a real enthusiast, there is nothing wrong with the standard corvette's suspension set up etc. Yes the Zo6 is more desirable, but have a look at your options. (Z06 suspension is very stiff and more suited to the race track. I imported 5 USA cars this year, so know a little about all this).

depends where you take them for the vinning with the lights.I know some who have gone straight through and some who have had to change or alter their lights in some way.

I gotta admit, I'd want both, rental and a car. Car is whatever tickles your fancy. I went from a classic european to an american muscle car, all good, it does bring a smile to the dial everytime you are behind the wheel and that is at legal speed everywhere.

Yes Lindsay is a member of Christchurch Corvettes. He has a bunch of nice Corvettes for sale and is a nice guy to deal with. The best thing about dealing with him is that his cars are here and can be looked at, driven and inspected. Makes no odds whether the car came from the USA or Japan; everyone is built in the same factory in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Z06 is a harsh but exciting drive, the regular cars are much more user friendly. And to the earlier poster, it can't be a Z06 convertible; Chevrolet never built such a thing. Lots of people have put the Z06 badges onto a convertible but that doesn't make them one.

Spoken to Lindsay and seen some of his Vettes. Going to take one for a drive. He was a nice guy to talk with and knows his stuff. Leaning towards the regular car as a better all rounder. Can always boost it up to the same hp as the Z06 if needbe. Thanks Jfp1
