If you were convicted, why did the cop let you off because of your clean driving record!

That's why I have a radar detector in my car.Got done once for $300, 'clocked' at 111 km/h with a trailer (80k limit those days).I was driving a gutless Nissan diesel Medallist, uphill with a loaded trailer, coming out of a 25k dip on the desert road. The old Nissan would have needed Jato bottles to have done 111 k's up that hill.
Since then I havehad a radar unit. and when I getsniff of a cop I slow down to 90-ish just to be safe.
But you're right, those guns they have can be wildly inaccurate. They were challenged so often in court that the law was changed so you can't challenge their accuracy now.Bastards.

I was going to criticize you re your comprehension skills, but I note in my original post that I have omitted to include the year 2012 after Saturday 23 Nov. Which was a screw up anyway, as the date I should have posted was Saturday 17 November 2012

They were two separate incidents, in the 2002 incident the conviction stood and I was fined for an offence that I had not committed.

In the 2012 re-runthe copper decided to check my driving record and from there (god bless his soul) and after much remonstration from me decided to give me the benefit of the doubt and did not issue a TON, something that I was appreciative of as all I could see was a similar scenario to 2002 all over again.

I am a firm believer in, if you do the crime you do the time. If I am legitimately caught speeding I gracefully accept the consequences. The last time I gracefully accepted the consequences of ACTUALLY being fair copped speeding was on Thorndon key in Wellington late on a Sunday afternoon in 1976 !

The thread isn??
