I presume some major crashes would require a lot of adjustments, but it seems quite pricey for even a minimal amount of chassis damage. Are they trying to recoup the cost of the equipment!

What do you call pricey!
Have you recently had a quote for repairs!

Not me, a mate. They reckon it would be around $1500-2000 to straighten a chassis with minimal damage.

Ok.what kinda car!

Pretty sure thats the intention for all business, they are panel beaters not the red cross

Just an older Honda Accord. The US seem to get an hourly rate of around $50 an hour, 6 hours would only be $300 which is reasonable.

To straighten a Honda Accord chassis will require more than just putting it on a chassis machine and pulling it straight.
Access has to made to the place where the damage is so the chassis machine can grab to it.
You can't just crash a car, and then throw it onto a chassis machine and straighten it.
Many body panels usually have to be removed and thenput back on during the process.

Ummm.6 hours at fifty bucks equals $ 350 in my book.
unfortunately what you think is reasonable , and what is actual reality,
Appear to be decades apart.
I fail to see how the U.S. comes into this equation.

Where did you get the extra $50 from! 6 hour x $50 is $300

Panel beaters are cabout $85 per hour round here and the machine is probably $200/250 ph, US has cheap wage rates but I reckon you'll find charge out rates are high, if you think a Honda is worth fixing for the price dive in its worth $90 per tonne bent.

You got a good price OP, you don't want to know what marcos1's true rates are. Wink
