ITS BRAKES.--YOU NEED NEW BRAKE PADS. Best bet is to pull one pad out to be certain. If its the only means of transpoert then draw the outline of the pad and bung it back in but you should be fine quoteing the Year make model cc rating, chasis numberand maybe rego number

Ask at your local motor parts store, they will know what you need.

You have a 91 Mitsubishi rvr x, so the pads you need will be for a 91 Mitsubishi rvr x. What extra info are you looking for!

we asked at repco and gave the info and he said that they have two kinds, we didn't know what kind was needed and neither did the repco dude,i thought maybe one of you might know offhand but i guess not,i was hoping not to have to remove it as ill need to put it back to drive in to town. and thank you so much to the spelling and grammar police ever so helpful

You were only helped because you're clueless, any other Tom, Dick or Belky would have got a right bollocking.

If there are two different kinds for the same make model and year, you're pretty much going to have to take it to somebody eyeball it. Alternatively, if you're up to it, go to somewhere like BNT (not repco), get them to show you a picture of the two different kinds, then go home and take a look.

The most sure fire way ( as suggested above) is take the dammbrake pads sample ( one side of car will do) that is 2 pads ;to the shop (per sample) then the parts peoplethen will know what you need! oftena few differentlistings fora certain year, depends where the vehicle was assembled& other factors.

if theres two sets get them both take them home compare and use the right ones. don't damage the box etc to much and take 2nd pair back for a credit.
Simple.

I think for a 91 Mitsubishi rvr x, you will need to buy Nissan Navara pads., they fit better than the correctones.

don't buy break pads, but if you have to, buy too so you have spears.
Try there.RVR and chariot are pretty much the same underneath.
e: The catalogu has pics as well so you should be able to work out which you ned.

clueless here's a clue - take a brake pad out, take a pic of it or scan it, then put BRAKE pad back in and drive to the shop.

I just have to ask. Why on earth diddn't you right then take BOTH sets! No matter what you are going back to the shop anyways. You had a 50/50 chance that the first box you opened were the correct pads.

Does anyone remember when you went to a parts shop the older guy behind the counter actually knew what you where after. I went to a parts shop in Napier the very hot young girl was really nice to look at pity she didnt have a clue about cars so I went elsewhere and got the service I required

yeah, the old guy retired, then the parts dept offered a new job to a new person, hired them as an apprenice, then paid them peanuts, offered minimal training, minimal payrises, then after 3 years, qualified, the now qualified experienced parts person leaves the company because management decided to not pay any more than $17 - this person then leaves, and gets a better, higher paid, better respected job elsewhere
good staff cost good money

Tools, accessories, oddball specials, no problem with Supercheap, or even Repco at a push. But actual parts, Appco and BNT. No problem at all with their knowledge or service.

Yes usually go to them or partmaster if I go to super cheap I talk to the blonde guy with the bsa motorbike he knows what he is on about ripco I dont bother with unless they have a good sale on

going back a few years Kiwi autoparts or independant car parts would have been my choice down your way.Sadly both gone now.
