Indicated 180 on the straight at teretonga, probably like 160 actual. Just a poxy 1.6 4-cylinder. I avoid doing silly speeds on the public roads for obvious reasons.
I've done 73 kph on one of my current bicycles. It was down Tunnel Hill with a following wind (climatic rather than human!).

It was quite funny when I lived in Waiouru where the speed limit is 30km/h in most places, and here I am passing cars at 45 - 50km/h.

I've had the old 380se Mercedes up to 180kmph curising for a few minutes, in the Hawkes Bay heading to Wellington, about four years ago. My foot was far from flat to the floor. The owners manual says she'll do 210kmph , but bugger that.
My wife told me once, that she had our 1992 Bighorn 3.1 diesel up to 140kmph. YIKES !

Old Z750 or new one. If old keeping one on the road at 198 would be startling!

Heres a thought now that National is spending all this money on roading and improving our "dangerous" roads do we still need to be stripped of our licences if we are caught 40kph over the posted limit!I think its a good thing in town but out of town im not a fan at all.And i have never lost my license for that so its not sour grapes or anything.
And on the thread title lets say over 200 in my gtir at "ohakea".

185 or so. (Indicating 190) 1.8L standard vehicle. A bit of a hot hatch; supposed to be good for 215. Was quite stable at 185.
