just got a speed camera photo sent to me of me in my car "speeding". The picture has me driving towards the speed camera, but in the photo has above recorded speed 56 direction "away", had a closer look at photo and how the camera is positioned you are able to look through rear window where "hello,i can see a white car with brakes on heading away, sent a letter back to police be interesting what happens now that i have disputed it.

Do you think they are going to take into account what you say, they don't care as long as they get their revenue because that's all it's about revenue gathering.

jrd78, Feb 4, 7:23pm
Too right, greedy buggers they are, I just wonder how many people pay there tickets without viewing the photo's, as with mine quite clear there's another car heading away just that my car bet it to getting it's photo taken with there fine attached to it

If the photo has the wordAWAY on it then it is a vehicle moving away from the camera van position. If it has the word TOWARDS on it then it is the vehicle approaching the camera van position.Challenge strongly if your vehicle directionis not described correctly on the photo because it cannotbe correct.

One of the drawbacks of the new automated process, errors like this will happen. Your letter will be reviewed by an actual person and you'll be let off. The new digital photos have no human review assuming the camera gets a good read on your plate. in this case it appears the automatic system got things wrong.

Don't stress, it's an honest mistake and they'll correct it :)

tgray, Feb 5, 10:14am
Yeah, but are you guilty or not!

fiatracer, Feb 5, 11:11am
admit it - you were reversing at high speed in the wrong lane

kevin_the_kiwi, Feb 5, 11:55am
Obviously OP was passing the white car who put his brakes on in a moment of disbelief when he sore OP's car reversing past him.

thejazzpianoma, Feb 5, 12:45pm
Do they still charge you for the photo!
I would hope that is refunded if they do.

spead, Feb 5, 2:02pm
silly it is you that has triggered the camera. pay up. Slow down next time

zak1998, Feb 5, 2:04pm
$30 fine was it

thejazzpianoma, Feb 5, 2:29pm
It's really interesting observing the intellectual capacity of those who blindly insist the OP pays the fine.

twink19, Feb 5, 2:36pm
the same thing happened to some one I know, photo showed his number plate, looking at ground level under oncomming truck, he was parked at the time, took him months to get off it

gedo1, Feb 5, 2:47pm

Got this email sent back to me yesterday,
I have checked the photograph and agree with you, I will cancel the infringement notice and I will send you a letter confirming this email.

I sincerely regret any error and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Good outcome and happy I requested the picture.

jrd78, Feb 6, 6:22am

suzq62, Feb 6, 9:15am
Got a speeding ticket from a cop car going towards me.I knew my record was clean but she took ages to check my licence, car etc then said "Ok, I'll let you go this time".I thanked her very much and two weeks later an infringement notice arrived at my home requiring $400 to be paid within 2 weeks.I talked to another cop about it and he said it would be down to "He said, she said" and I'm pretty sure "She said" would win out, just pissed off that she just didn't hand the ticket to me at the scene.

gammelvind, Feb 6, 9:24am
$400 is a pretty big fine for a "I'll let you go this time" speed, are you sure it was for the same event! Sounds more like a wof/reg fine.

robbief, Feb 6, 10:23am
got one on the takapau planes 16km almost straight road in a camper 97km for 7km $30.00 bucks no outher traffic around.revenue collecting.
