Probably faster, more powerful, more reliable, quieter, cheaper to buy, better handling, cheaper parts, uses less fuel than a harley.
I really can 't understand the obsession with those antiquated gutless turds. I have noticed they're mostly bought for image - dentists and lawyers going from home to the cafe on weekends wanting to project a tough guy image.

I see no issue with people buying a car or bike for their own image. I'll never understand why kids want jap cars with milo can exhausts on, but each to their own. As for cheap parts and gas etc, life's too short to be driving/riding something you don't like.

I have no problem with it. As long as they don't go getting all precious when you ask where the PTO is.

They're even better at doing what they're actually designed for: extracting cash from the gullible under the pretence of it making them a hard man.

Less usable! You can get the extended family on that now instead of just the immediate family!

Out of interest what do you ride.[ maybe the key board .lol. ] immmmm just finished a 1600 k trip today, [ I've said this before where are all these fantastic fast bikes ] didn't get passed once.and i also ride my bike every day rain or shine summer and winter.Guessing you are the Sunday cafe crowd.
meathead_timaru,

It's big, black and Japanese. I've always had a bike since I was 13, always had a road bike, or several, since I was 15 and often had off-road enduro and motor-x too. I didn't even own a car until I was 28 and I only bought that because I needed it when I became self-employed.
Maybe if you want to see these fast bikes you should go somewhere other than just straight highways, somewhere twisty. You better put some sacrificial plates on your Pig's engine and pipes though.

Check out where i live.sorry you just do not see stuff all bikes on the road [ other than the BMWcrowd ] i'm talking every day riding,.my last ride was from Golden Bay to West Coast, over the Arthurs Pass to Christchurch then back with riding in between.i live in Golden Bay [ guess you don't know where that is] and the West Coast Mind you it wasn't a Sunday .lol.PS Been riding a little over 50 years and have always had a bike [ not only Harley's ].as said before i'm a every day rider.can cruisevery comfortably at 140ks all day long, faster if need be.Note i don't have to slag off your bike what ever it is as i just don't really care & i know i will never come across you as just another want a be AND the straight roads are down your way not ours.lol.explains a lot don't judge others as of your self .lol.

That's why I have the fast reliable japper - to get me to where I want to go effortlessly - to scratching territory. No worries about broken rubber bands with those chain drives.
Boy, those Pig wrestlers sure do bite well!

LOL No worries i have never had a problem with themquite like some of them,in fact partying with a heap of jappa riders at Owen River on the way home.Have to stick up for my poor old girl though.my first love is actually Moto Guzzis
meathead_timaru,

Moto Guzzi. now we're talking!
I have a mate that had a Buell. I swear that guy went through so many belts it was ridiculous - it got to the point where he'd turn around and go home if he saw a "NEW SEAL" sign LOL. I've stopped to assist strangers twice with the same problem on their harleys. Towed one nearly 20km once. Before phone cameras were a common thing unfortunately.
I don't so much mind plodding along on occasion but I do prefer a bit of adrenaline and getting out front of the cages.
Each to their own but I love to give fellow riders a good ribbing about their bike choices and expect nothing less in return!

Hmmmm, let me see. Big, so has to 1000cc or bigger, fast, well thats many, and reliable, thats most jappa's. Black! and for, or can scratch. It could be many a bike as most fit those catagories in the "big" range. Large factory black bikes I can think of would be GSX 1100s,GSXR1000s,GSX1300R Hayabusa, CBR1100 Blackbird, CBR1000RR, Kawasaki ZZR 1100 and 1000 ninja series and the mighty ZX14. Did they do a ZX10 in black!think so. Yamaha R1 Surly not a naked bike as they loose the "fast" bit due to no fairings LOL. That would be my choice of that description anyway but prob missed the very one you own. And still can't do the quote copy thingy but maybe my system won't allow it as I notice the wifes computor does things on here mine wont and its a bit newer.or im just dumb.

Actually, I saw a FZ1 a couple of weeks back that I liked the look of - not bad for a naked. It'd be nice change to not have to peer over the black windscreen when wheelying. My previous one's in that list but my current one's not very common - only produced for 5 years and didn't sell a great deal. Took me a while to find a nice tidy unmolested one.

Always wanted a 1000RX but the planets never aligned.
