lane, should I pull over left to let 'speeders' through!

Your indicated speed is irrelevant, your actual speed is what counts.

I would. Let em blast through and hopefully get a ticket after hehe.

Yep. get out the way. Its like when you have 2 rigs overtaking, ones doing 80 the other 85. Seriously what is the point in overtaking! Let the faster vehicles through first. More than likely they will get snapped and get a ticket. I know I have.

Absolutely, keep left unless passing. You are not the speed police. And there is no "fast lane"

^^THIS people that hog the "fast lane" are retarded.I just flash people if they annoy me enough. They always move when you do that funnily enough.

let them pass and clear the way with the filth.

Okay thanks that's fairly clear. I've been making them go around me. My bad. I will change my ways :) Cheers.

Anyone sitting in the outside lane and making others pass on the left is a m*r*n, no matter how fast your going.

While I agree that the outside lane should be kept free for faster moving traffic, as when driving overseas where it is quite rigourisly enforced, here in NZ there is no legal standing of a fast lane. The only thing we have is our keep left rule, but if someone wants to travel at 90kph in the outside lane there really is nothing illegal about it. I wish it was.

Sometimes people have a serious reason to travel faster than you. Giving birth to a baby, could be a good one!

Pretty much what I was gonna say lol.

yes tell your mum to let them pass, it doesnt matter if you are a few minutes late to soccer practice. you are only a reserve anyway

What is the speed limit for trucks on the motorway! Every time I'm heading south out of orcland at 100k's in the middle or left lanes I'm getting passed by a constant stream of behemoths who must be doing 110 minimum. .
therafter1,

And you are determining your and their speed on what !
vivac,
Mar 24, 11:16am
Not really, they shouldnt be driving while giving birth, the birth may be a bit of a distraction.
therafter1,
Mar 24, 11:17am
Their speed limit is 90kph with an occasional discretionary fudge factor of 5kph.
Additionally, many heavy vehicles are now speed limited (governed) by the owners/manufacturers, so it seems odd that you believe them all to be belting along at 110kph !

Cars etc are allowed to 100kph, heavy trucks 90kph.So if I happen to be traveling at what my speedo says is 100kph ( and I have no other device to determine my speed, and why should I) and a truck catches me up. That would mean my speedo is out by at least 15kph as the truck is doing 90 and been able to catch me, so I have to be doing less than 90kph as he would never catch up with me. This happens to me every day and it happens on my motorbike, my wifes car, my car, my previous cars as well. So the conclusion is every car and bike (or any car I drive) the speedos are all out 15kph. So why are trucks ones not out 15kph as well as then they would think there doing 90kph as well .And its not just trucks either its plenty of cars as well. And on some occasions I even catch cars and trucks up so they must be doing 80kph or less.

Clark20 is correct. Keep left.

Isn't it annoying when you have to type long winded posts to get the point across to people who really at the end of the day are smartarses trying to split hairs.

+4 The most frustrating aspect of driving in NZ.Quite why people join the motorway (sic) at 80kph or less and head straight for the centre or right hand lane is beyond me. UK motorway digital signs often just have the keep left except when overtaking message.I don't think I have ever seen a sign in NZ telling people to keep left.

your indicated could allways be out if if you have been changing your tyre and /or your wheel size !( indicated speed )^^^^^

I travel at an indicated 105, anyone passing me is breaking the law, not my problem how or where they pass.
