Yeah that was a bit too much. not one to get all PC but that's asking for trouble.
What about Damian's lap though? Go kiwi.

attitudedesignz, Oct 10, 10:12am
You mean Fabian maybe?

attitudedesignz, Oct 10, 10:16am
Wasn't just that comment.

He also said

"All the teams do pad changes during the race, but I heard they're the only ones doing a pad change with wings.".

howie69, Oct 10, 10:21am
Foot in mouth from him really in todays pc world. Best to let it go now he has been fined and appologised. Let him show how good he is against them on the track now

ruby2014, Oct 10, 12:19pm
I hope that the girls can bet him on the race track.

mopsy3, Oct 10, 12:44pm
LOL. This is a joke right?

rob_rooster, Oct 10, 12:54pm
Jamie Wincup has posted a 2.04.9 lap, fastest ever V8 time round Bathurst!

richardmayes, Oct 10, 12:54pm
I suspect the press and motor racing PR people might have been more horrified by the comments than the two women racing drivers were. ?

They kind HAD to come down hard on him though, the industry could certainly do with a bit of cleaning up and sanitizing if they want to stay on air and online in today's world. I remember being horrified by all the promo girls at some motor racing in Taupo a few years ago, walking around wearing not much all day and generally looking about 14. With every disgusting fat sweaty aging white dude that you would have expected to know better, vying to getting his photos taken with his arms around a bunch of them. While his wife pretends not to notice or not to care.
It was just a bit embarassing to be around, like something you wouldn't really expect to see still happening here and now.

It must be a bit awkward if a driver and a promo girl inadvertantly meet in the ladies' room half way through the race.

"So what are you doing here?"

"I'm currently running in 5th place in the race, I've just handed the car over to my co-driver for a while. I'm a bit stressed because our $3 million sponsor said they'll leave us if we don't finish in the top 12. You?"

"Oh, I'm just here so that sad desperate old men can look down my front while my boss tries to sell them stuff."

rob_rooster, Oct 10, 12:56pm
I actually thought this comment was worse, but oh well lesson learned.
Hope the Women have a good race, would be cool to see more of them competing in the V8 Supercars.

quickbuck, Oct 10, 1:26pm
The thing with David Reynolds comments is that he is in the same garage as Andre Heimgartner. who is a the partner of one of the young ladys.
They all get on (well that part of the garrage anyhow) and it was a bit of "Banter" that sort of goes on, but yes, it should not be said in public!

Andre was more upset ad Dick Johnsons comment, and to be honest was totally on the nose by saying they were a million to one shot! I bet he would never say that about any other team in the field. Reason: I believe he was being sexist right there. Of courst one could argue that so was the reporter who posed the question!

Fact is, I race bikes against many females. I have quickly learnt that it actually makes stuff all difference as they are as good at racing a bike as the next racer.

purple666, Oct 10, 1:35pm
As there is no backing up involved they should be right I guess.

mopsy3, Oct 10, 2:15pm
I'd say DJ would say Aaren Russell was a million to one chance as well just quietly.

mopsy3, Oct 10, 2:17pm
Well, they didn't finish slowest in Practice 5 anyway so they may have a chance.

elect70, Oct 10, 2:27pm
The feminists are trying to get banner girls at races banned plus cheer leaders at football . I recall Danica patric saying she had lots of comments made when she started in Nascar but said she was well prepared for it & it was just water off a ducks back to her . .women in m racing could bring in more sponsors = more interest from mainstream media .

sr2, Oct 10, 2:38pm
I think it would be a huge improvement if the promo girls were topless. Hooters and motor racing are a great combination!

(And to think Mrs sr2 says I'm shallow. !).

i got fan pass for the week coverage is top quaility.
chaz has just biffed the ford in the wall sadly

richardmayes, Oct 10, 4:20pm
My wife is a qualified industrial electrician, and she reckons that working in a man's world you just give back as good as you get, and it's fine because women have a sense of humour too, and most filthy male bastards who you work with on site are nowhere near as bad as some of the things they say, and most women are not the weak crumpling petals that the Feminist studies department at the University of Bums on Seats would have you believe either. She said working on building sites with male tradies was a hell of a lot better than working in retail with clueless 21 year old female b*tches.

But the bosses, owners and clients, and what they expect. that is where the REALLY entrenched bad attitudes still exist, and THEY are the reasons why we still have feminists, still feeling like they need to fight for women to get a fair go in jobs they could/can do just as well as any man.

richardmayes, Oct 10, 5:05pm
Sorry I realise everyone else is here to talk about motor racing. I'll get my hat and coat & see myself out.

fordcrzy, Oct 10, 5:09pm
chaz has has a TOTAL brain fart. what the *** was he thinking? totally biffed the falcon into 3 walls. broken leg and wrist and a totalled chassis. so i guess thats it for them.

quickbuck, Oct 10, 5:24pm
I suspect that Murph's comment regarding the light levels and the black paint on the fence may well have some weight. Chaz could well have aimed for the dark patch thinking it was track.

So sad he has broken his bones. A real shame that the track side marshals suffered some injuries too.
I am appalled that the marshal post didn't app ear up to the task.

hotrodtodd1, Oct 10, 5:46pm
So a racer makes a sexist comment and gets fined $27,000 odd by the organisers, but the organisers still allow the promo girls/pip pups to be there to "add to the atmosphere.

Two faced pricks.

ruby2014, Oct 10, 7:01pm
Thanks for the link you put up today jon9. #17.
I just bought a weeks sky sport for $19.99.
That will be great for Bathurst and then maybe do the same later for the V8 Supercars, if they still gave that offer going then.

Now just gotta work out hoe to get it from my 10" iPad screen to my 50" tv screen ?

hunter69, Mar 2, 4:05am
The Aussie's still can't beat a flying kiwi aye lol.
