The colour was what MOST attracted Kaz.

Yea but the GENUINE sp's are single seat with a lightweight subbie aft of riders seat. There was one for sale on here for years with sod all k's that had been in a prang. IMO he wanted about 2k too much for it--someone else thought different

3 I wish I had never parted with, A '70 Suzuki TR500, ( steve roberts frame), a '74 TZ250 (ex randy Mamola) and a '76 H2B kawasaki.

desmodave, Nov 8, 5:49pm
None . I have only sold Jap dirt type bikes over the years and kept the Street bikes i love .

richynuts, Nov 8, 6:18pm
Were you not paying attention? I already said I had an SP, was only saying I had a 2 seater setup in my spares. Btw the rear subframe is still steel just doesnt have footpeg and seat mounts, the single seat unit is factory fibreglass.

skin1235, Nov 8, 6:45pm
all of them, the old triumph 500 twin, the 500 ajs twin, the 350 ajs single, the commando, the aerial 650 twin, the cbf4 500, and the cbf4 550 ex cop, the 1000 vincent way back in 72, even the er 185 had a soft spot, the 400 km?kx?, the dr250, don't ask about quads and 3 wheelers though, some of them I couldn't give away quick enough

I had two Suzuki GT750 J models with consecutive frame numbers. They were the original twin leading shoe brake models with the "ray gun" black tip exhausts. Both tidy registered original runners. Sold them at the Hamilton swap meet about ten years back for $4500 the pair. Bugger.

Sunbeam S7 or maybe my Ducatti SD 900. If I knew then what I know now.

kazbanz, Nov 8, 8:15pm
That's the one I'm talking about. I could live with the tail but not the fairing.

tmenz, Nov 8, 8:19pm
DKW Hummell - 49cc of raw power.

klrider, Nov 9, 5:54am

My Ducati 450Mk3 bought for $500, spent the same on do up, ridden for 5 years musically single cylinder rides, sold for $1200 10 years ago, worth in the order of $10,000 now. :(

desmodave, Nov 9, 7:54am
Have had my Darmah 29 years , i think its a keeper .

ducatiss, Nov 9, 10:18am
Wish I had my RD250LC back in the garage again.

clothesline2011, Nov 9, 11:17am
kr 250, loved that bike round town,, 2smoke power!

stornello, Nov 9, 11:21am
You can't keep them all, and to have one bike your whole life could get a bit boring. They all had to go at some stage - Rickmaan Metisse, Cheney Triumph, Norton 99, XLV750, I'd like to have those again, just to cash in for retirement as I don't have a house in Auckland to sell. I still have the Stornello.

Now that I am getting on a bit it would be great to have my old Indian back. Have owned more bikes than I can remember, mostly handbuilt, each was better than the 1 before it until age and injuries started to rule my choices.

contagious, Nov 9, 12:11pm
Yamaha rd 350 would out peform most bikes in it time one thing wrong it was a twostroke

tintop, Nov 9, 12:15pm
lol Scarey! I swapped a '75 Ducati 750 sport that I had for a while, for an RD 350 for a weekend.

It seemed to speed up when the throttle was closed compared to the throttle closed braking of the 750. Yikes! But it was fun the next couple of days. :)

oliver6, Nov 9, 12:26pm
I raced an RD350 in 73/74. Traded my GT750 waterbus on it. Then an H2.
They were great but I don't want to own them now. I have just had a ride in Riverhead Forest on my KTM300EXC.
New bikes are better than those old buckets.

Yeah that'd be my one most likely. Think it went for 3K by memory & went to ChCh. Was another one up there so maybe you're talking that one! . Mine [pink & all] i bought by accident [not crash accident] i sold the guy something like an XR200 tool bag of the rear guard & just happened to mention--do you know anyone that wants a YZF750SP "92 or "93--next thing i'd followed him home & then 'it' followed me home lol. As the local indoor Kart add say--Fast--Faster than fast--not even sure if that's possible! . Mine had Std forks fitted after the originals were wiped off so the story went.
Anyway--i miss my new Red Triumph T100 Unit Metisse Scrambler [MX for you modern people]. Went to an MX today [sunday] & it was yesterday damn it. Must be old age.

danchop, Nov 9, 3:39pm
