i was a passenger in a truck once and the driver hated vans. he would tailgate and harass vans for the fun of it. i know one lady who goes nuts at anyone going under 105km/h. why 105 i have no idea. others who hate diesels or holden, or small cars, or trucks etc. one driver who ran another vehicle off the road because "he was slow". another person who would swear and curse at oncoming traffic for "driving to fast" while he was driving on the wrong side of the road around a blind corner.
its all just a BS excuse to go and harass, intimate and bash someone.

I've often wondered what would happen if I were to fit a controlled injection port just behind the CAT, when tailgated push a switch and inject kero or brake fluid, either a great tongue of flame or a wall of smoke, see if they're still keen to stay there

A tractor can come off worst in a 'vehicle behind contacting tractor in front' accident depending on the point of contact and the vehicle velocity differentials etc. https://youtu.be/2RN3nEGwuDw

water/alcohol injection. you can buy scents to put in. the raw smell of rotting eggs really puts off drivers.

Hadda prick in a TAB signwritten softroader so close tonight no sign of his number plate, the sudden brake did squat so pulled into left lane. flicked back when he passed and gave him the fullbeam headlights for a bit. he pulled away and did same crap to the next victim.

So you were cruising in the outside lane when you could have been in the left? That sounds clever - NOT.

Works for us. If there are two lanes I (we) usually pull over into to the other one.

That was one dangerous idiot on the roads.

Reminds me when I was younger I pulled the rear window wiper off the GTIR for some reason, and when you used the rear washer it would jet straight up and out from the rear window, use to get mates if they were behind me just for a laugh.

thats actually required by law anyway. but if they want to overtake they can simply change lane and overtake.
most of the tailgating here (no motorway here) is done by people who don't overtake. empty long straight road and they tailgate instead of overtaking. generally its nothing to do with going fast, its all about harassing people for the fun of it. had plenty that tailgate then finally overtake, then they drive slower and hold everyone up.

Don't have to get out of the fast lane if doing the speed limit.

So you're the one!

Surprised at that from you trog. The passing lane is for passing, not sitting in cruising along. If I am on the motorway not passing anything, I will be in the left lane, not the passing lane. Even if I am doing 100k. The number of people I have to pass on the inside because they are sitting in the passing lane on a quiet motorway doing 90-95k - either lack of awareness, knowledge, or manners.

Here in Taranaki, the unofficial new speed limit appears to be 85km/hr, with few overtaking/passing-lanes and the lack of 'courtesy', i'm seeing more road-users making risky decisions & manoeuvres, and the Taranaki road-toll is on the up.

Yup, definitely happens. People resort to risky passing as they get more frustrated. I think slow unaware drivers are more dangerous than ones 5 or 10ks over the limit (apart from obvious situations like around schools).

Yep, this 100%. Its much better to get the clown as far away from you as you can

Read #35 We usually pull over into the left lane. If someone is doing 100kph in the left lane then they shouldn't be passed by someone in the right/fast lane.

So why not pull across to the left and let them past? What have you lost by doing so? Sorry mon but this is exactly the issue. 2 lots of people seem to drive on the road the "police" and the "crooks' The "police" are those who feel they own the road because they are driving "legally" Because they are they can do anything they like to teach the "crooks" a lesson. The "crooks" reckon they own the road. "police" should pull over and let them past -and if they did there would be less traffic snarl ups NOONE is right . --Whats the harm in letting someone past? Whats the harm in waiting a couple of minutes till theres room to pass.?
tub4,

And I guess you would never pull into those slow lanes no matter how many behind you

From my own observations & experiences, i agree.
