"Evening officer" etc works well - treat them with respect
and usually goes good.

Know an ecilop and he said he was going to let this businessmen
off with a warning but the businessmen was raving and ranting so
out came the fine book - smarter not harder !

My thought too - then I realised he must be trolling, after all, nobody is THAT silly, are they?

Would love to read the Police Community, Community>Message Board>Motoring.
Bet it reads something like this,
"Just finished a hard 12 hour shift. got eyeballed by some old pensioner driving his grandsons car. Clearly he couldnt control the power.

or

one of those cops who have the mindset that "the public are the enemy" and "somewhere someone is getting away with something and it has to stop".

You really have to stop overthinking this stuff. It's doing your head in

mals69, Jan 9, 9:48am

Sucked into the cops little game . Had that several times , 1 night cop had the stalker on me continously just waiting for me to panic .

Following someone isn't really interrupting them though. I would look at it like this. I don't know what ute you have, but you mentioned cert, P-plates etc so I am assuming you have a bit of pride in this. Some lowlife decides that he has more entitlement to it than you. Police goes past him in the opposite direction. Low life it obviously driving so as not to attract police attention. Cop decides to spot check and (assuming that the guys doesn't total your ute in a chase) your car is recovered. I have no problem with police pulling anyone over anytime.

One of the poor guys had to follow me through the roadworks at Whenuapai just before Christmas. No-one working there, just a forest of road cones, over what I would say was a generous stretch of road considering the area being worked on. 4km tolerance = me doing 30kph ALL the way. Was actually a bit of a pain because the cruise control can't be activated below 40kph.

Was it the Testar ute. Bit different. Perhaps wanted to see if it was certed,

Why would you walk over in your socks ?

socram, Jan 9, 4:55pm
. 'cos he probably put his muddy work boots in the back?

There are racers who would drive in bare feet if they were allowed, for 'better control'.

I do not understand this plea that watching the speedo every now and again is an issue. You know where the needle is on the speedo or what revs the car is running at and if it takes your eyes off the road for more than a fraction of a second, then maybe you shouldn't be driving. With decent peripheral vision, even my old eyes can read the speedo without even taking my eyes off the road - and I use reading glasses.

Sounds like you shouldn't be driving!
