Did you listen to it? What did he say to back up your insult? When Sean said VW should be done he said 'absolutely'. He is merely expressing an opinion, (that's rife elsewhere) that VW are by no means alone and we need a discussion about what we are trying to reduce co2 or nox. And pointing out that VW employees below senior management are hardly to blame. I don't think your keeping a very open mind. Try reading this; http://www.bbc.com/news/business-34340301

Defeat device should never have been installed in the first place IMO that's just plain devious trickery and the world will be all the wiser now that "the cat is out of the bag." It ain't going to go away in a hurry. Frankly VAG should be pilloried for such deceit.

Interesting how you find yourself having to defend this individual constantly.

and yet there is a thread in general about cameltoe
seadubya,
Sep 25, 6:11pm
That thread doesn't name tm members, if my theory is correct then that makes all the difference. It was the only thing that I could find in the rules at the bottom that could have been used in to report the thread.

I haven't a clue what this thread is about!
(Sometimes I miss "johnboy", at least he was predictable).

Weird ain't it. Some say predictable.

Im lost--did someone name a kiwi car trader ?
tamarillo,

I just find people's insults pathetic frankly. The guy was here helping and sharing his enthusiasm. Petty insults with bugger all knowledge annoy me! My 12 yr old can have an intelligent reasoned discussion. I don't have a vag product, nor do I know the guy.
tamarillo,

I THINK we are not allowed to mention name of poster who rather liked vag products and was a bit of an expert on them. Not a dealer though. I say think because it's mentioned in other threads but that seems to be what going on. He was on radio talkback.

+1 well said

So why weren't the "offending" posts pulled rather than an entire thread on a subject of international concern.

Just listened to that segment.
They did well, defended vw AND had a dig at Suzuki and Toyota.
They speak the same as they type pffft.

WHAT segment?

http://www.radiolive.co.nz/Audio.aspx scroll down to Thursday 24 09 2015 , click the drop arrow and select 10:15am time slot, drag down the time slots -select the 10:15am slot click on it and move the horizontal drag bar to about 4:20 of the 0-15 bar and play it. Starts about 4:28 and runs for about 5mins.

Actually they have admitted their cheating guilt tony9 and that should not be cause for pulling a thread.

Isn't jazz's name Alex? Wouldn't be at all surprised if that was him on the show supporting VW and using Suzuki as a comparison.
Edit: YES it's Alex. had to be him on radio LOL

Wouldnt happen in NZ with our strict emission laws would it. Oh wait a minute we havent got any have we.The government brought a machine for testing at WOF time but sent it back as it wasnt "cost Effective" or was that too expensive!

Oh, good God. Just took the time to listen. I mean, you have to admire someone's steadfast support of a business they believe in, with the evidence waved in front of them.
Kind of like Colin Craig's wife, really.

We are standards takers here in NZ, not standards makers. We accept the emission standards as tested for homologation from the EU, Japan and the United States, and choose which appropriate standard level (Euro 5, 6 for example) we wish to have as a minimum standard.
Used imports are the same- we have a series of standards they must have conformed to as built, and a "smog check" as part of the compliance process.
I'm fully supportive of in-service emission testing (at WOF) but politically it's a hiding to nothing (hence why Judith Tizard pulled the plug on the scheme back in 2007 or so).

Lord I'm not. Looking at the freaking shambles being exposed in regulations and testing overseas, I shudder to think how we'd devise something workable here. A California DMV scale smog-test system when we've probably got more car models and variants on the road and a fraction of the population is doomed IMO.
It's probably a good time to sit back and wait to see the fallout from what's happening in Europe.
Tech for a lot of emissions test data is built in to cars these days anyway. Collect and save that data securely in ECU, upload it at check time, collate it, then reward/penalise car makers after the cars have been sold and actually are in "normal use" by comparing that data to what they're going to commit to when they release the new model.

Sounds like an extension of 3rd Reich propaganda brain washing pretty much or total denial of any opposition product no matter the cost. all to funny in the extreme.

I really dont understand how anybody can still back this guy up when it pretty clear hes a few marbles short of a packet! It either that or he's somehow financially invested in it all. How could you possibly get so wrapped up in it that you feel the need to go on radio and try to defend the indefensible?
