Thanks - not much help tbh

sarahb5, Jun 7, 6:53pm
No, no and no - also only the first one is an actual Mini - I learnt to drive in a 1978 Mini and the answer is still no

sarahb5, Jun 7, 6:54pm
Doesn't help much - we get a lot of sunstrike around here as well

thejazzpianoma, Jun 7, 6:55pm
That's got a lot going for it that one. It's also going to be a tricky one to predict, most people are buying 5 door Grande Punto's as a practical car. That one being a two door is not so common and count's many of the typical buyers out. However. it is also the hot model, and the T Jet was mostly only available in the 2 door version here.

The only other dollar reserve one of those I have seen wen't really stupid cheap (under 5K when most were going for 7.5K. But the market has changed, the Punto is on more peoples radar and that is a particularly nice one. So, after all that rambling. I have no idea!
Anything from 4-8K probably around 6-7K.

No but there's just a baffling number of makes and models out there so came here for some advice - fat chance!

320i BMW from around 1998 last of e36.

You asked what we would buy, there are as many preferences as there are makes and models. I disagree that the RS Vitz is shitz, but it's not for you, there was no way I could have known that from your original post. Happy hunting.

Define actual Mini?

What are you saying no to? the cars? cause I thought the question was "what would you buy and why?"

sarahb5, Jun 7, 7:10pm
Ok then so why would you buy a Mini?

sarahb5, Jun 7, 7:11pm
And not a Mini as in one is an Elf and the other is an Austin 1300

seadubya, Jun 7, 7:13pm
Elf is a mini in every way just in a party dress, 1300 is a ADO16 that was recommended by same person.

Personally I'd avoid ex-Singapore cars too

So I'll re-word my question then - I have up to $5,000 to spend on a smallish post-2005 hatchback (need hatchback so I can get my bike in the boot) - what would you suggest? I am used to driving a reasonably large station wagon so don't want anything too small

sarahb5, Jun 7, 7:18pm
because?

sarahb5, Jul 19, 5:33am
If you say so - never heard it called that before but still don't want one
