I caught some little shit breaking into my house, tacked him, called the police.
Just as they were leaving, the last officer asked me "did yah get a few punches in eh".

And I answered "NO, because thats not how things are supposed to be done."

Now I don't know what he was asking for.
Was it some sort of 'did yah teach the shit a lesson?
Are you the sort who will bash a intruder?
Just inquisitive?
Trying to get me to incriminate myself?
Inferring that to a certain point that it is OK?

I dunno, I do know that my answer is the correct one though.

He bashed a old lady to steal her handbag years ago.
At the moment hes doing 3 years for bashing a grandfather with knuckledusters, with a co offender, when he asked at 3am weekday "If they could turn the music down a bit"

He got bail for about 15 incidents before being sentenaced to this.
Ferals. I know his family. Not the first time hes broken into my house, more than 5 times now, just this time I caught him in the act.

They're two slightly different scenarios to the OP and to my mind don't involve breaching any current rules. Letting someone out of a driveway or parking space is just basic courtesy. I wouldn't concern yourself too much about that.

If you're in a private driveway you have to give way to anything already on the road. I would imagine that a parking space would be similar.

It's exactly the scenario which the OP is talking about. If the OP was in the two scenarios you mentioned, he would be the car coming out of the driveway or the parking space.
