Down here in Southland the other day. Now I wonder what his indicated speed was. probably a lot higher than actual speed.

tamarillo, Mar 7, 4:58pm
Magic 200kph you reckon, non of this ton up boys, we want two ton up (metric)!
I can't help it, I know it's wrong, but I'm smiling.

survivalkiwi, Mar 7, 6:32pm
With all the holden maloos ,hsv's Ferraris ,Lambos and other very fast cars in NZ its a wonder not more people are caught doing over 200kph.
Even a new double cab ute would just about get there.

kenw1, Mar 7, 6:36pm
Its only just a bit over a ton twenty in real figures, geez still in fourth at that.

seadubya, Mar 7, 6:42pm
I don't think the 2 tonne club gets a hat like the 2 ton club does.

stickman100, Mar 7, 6:44pm
That's was a 47 year old Invercargill man, OR was that you Mark (gunhand) ?

gunhand, Mar 7, 6:50pm
Nooooo, I don't do irresponsible things like that. and if I did I wouldn't be going that slow LOL.
I wonder what his reasoning was.

bumfacingdown, Mar 7, 6:54pm
Well he could hardly use "Me Dads got the shits" that has been used up

Hey Gun, I remember a story about a young lad on a bike. Quite a few years ago now. Story I heard, He was going pretty quick when he went past the cop. Not sure of the speed. The fella on the bike ended up stopping and waited for the cop to catch up.

gunhand, Mar 7, 7:44pm
Thats a true story. As the kind policeman told me, "radios are still quicker than you, and we have a road block waiting for you".
You back from ya Xmas break then, half way through March seems about right for self employed?

pup2, Mar 7, 7:57pm
lol yea self employed have it way to easy lol. Just popped on for a nose. Had a laugh at the DIY your own air con thread, then found this one. Didn't hear about this fella speeding. Crazy. My old ute got up to 99 the other day down a hill with a strong southern wind up me ring. Hanging on for dear life lol

gunhand, Mar 7, 8:00pm
Twas in the local rag, ya know, big news someone being caught going that quick on our southern roads, I mean he coulda hit a penguin.

pup2, Mar 7, 8:02pm

gunhand, Mar 7, 8:05pm
Yea had a nosey earlier, the front and rear seem ok lol. And a AOS incident and dramatic car fire in same area in one month, all go in this burb.

pup2, Mar 7, 8:07pm
That will buff out

gunhand, Mar 7, 8:09pm
I'll have to make an attempt to catch up with ya.

richardmayes, Mar 7, 8:13pm
HSVs, Ferraris and Lambos. LOL

pup2, Mar 7, 8:18pm
I have a fella with a MK1 Cortina for ya as well. Will have to catch up.

unideck, Mar 7, 10:12pm
I recon :) its far from a quick speed. I remember driving around the M25 in London doing 85mph - I got pulled up by the boys in blue and told to get a move on as I was holding traffic up! 120/130mph was my then average speed from West Yorkshire to London on the M1. This was in the early hours granted but its not fast in my book. Here in NZ it is fast cos the roads are shagged and we don't have "real" motorways like Germany and Spain have.

200kms LOL!

gunhand, Mar 8, 11:04am
Yea not much to with how fast his car may go or how fast some cars can go, fact is 100kph is our limit here, like it or loathe it. He was caught doin it and that's 93kph over our limit.

gunhand, Mar 8, 11:08am
Which bit ya find funny? Yea if ya sayin some HSVs are slow, well an old 185i sure is compared to 2015 430kw version.

unideck, Mar 8, 11:31am
I hear ya gunhand :) The law is one thing and peoples perception of speed is a totally different cookie altogether.

kazbanz, Mar 8, 11:45am
Honest story guys.
I was out riding my bike the other day. really having a heap of fun to be honest.
A local traffic officer pulled me over to tell me I was going too slow and to get off the road. I had to explain to him at great length why I was riding so slowly.
Luckily he believed me and let me carry on. but at a faster speed.

bumfacingdown, Mar 8, 11:58am
To pissed huh?

kazbanz, Mar 8, 1:27pm
he reckons 160 round the corners and 240 on the straights wasn't quick enough. ahh well
