So I started the winter project today. I'm building up a Nissan L18 from 3 different engines (so far). It's good to have something to tinker with in the shed on the cold dark nights. It'll be better if I get this one finished before summer rolls around!

What have you got going on to keep you busy over the winter?

just started on a valiant . just done a 4" roof chop and spent most of this week end taking it from a 4 door to a 2 door .have to do a half chassis to fit a 9" diff with 15 x 15 rear wheels under it .

Cafe style cx500, almost finished.

The many year ongoing ones. that I never get to.

Interesting to use a CX for that one. I think of a cafe style as lying low on the bike, but when I think of a CX it's sort of laid back and cruisey.
Got a pic?

Cool. I had a couple of friends in Dunedin with one each. One of them had a cast horses head for a bootlid puller (it looked good).

Heres a tip, when you weld in the new floor sections, tack it, then tack it and then tack it again. when you have finished tacking do short welds and keep going from one side to the other so as to keep heat distortion at a minimum.

If your dad doesn't have a project in the shed you've got two mums.

brapbrap8, Jun 3, 9:51am
My project is doing a whole lot of earth moving and landscaping then building a big new shed with a workshop to give me some space for a real project.

Bumper sticker right there!

motorboy2011, Jun 3, 10:04am
seat, rear guard and rear lights to go. Aiming to have it on the road and modded for under $1500 including the cost if buying the bike.

gsimpson, Jun 3, 10:21am
Will be good to see it on the road. I have Austin 8 going now. Winter project is Esprit.

Do a bit of spot welding with MIG. Use 3/16" stub drill. Drill through one layer and fill with MIG. Makes neat spot weld and minimises distortion.
