Interesting bmphil. I can hear it with the window up so am beginning to think it's a noise in the speedo head itself rather than the switch at the trans. I tried pushing the reset button but made no difference.

realtrader1, Feb 4, 1:40pm
The stereo. hmmm okay! Back out to the car. no, stereo definitely off.

realtrader1, Feb 4, 1:41pm

realtrader1, Feb 4, 5:12pm
Thanks gmphil. Funny that! I plan to do the same thing as I think it will be easier than driving along the street. I am thinking it is the speedo itself. It will be interesting to find out.

have also had this once, turned out to be a clock behind a little cover in the dash
just a thought

nzangel1, Feb 6, 12:15pm
thats what i had thought too.

realtrader1, Feb 6, 1:32pm
Ok but, no, there's no cable.

realtrader1, Feb 6, 1:32pm
That's odd! No, the ticking goes away with the engine on but the car stationary so if it was a clock the ticking would continue.

Have you got a stone jammed in the tread of one tyre that clicks when it contacts the road surface every turn of the wheel?

realtrader1, Feb 6, 2:36pm
No, as said, clicking goes away if you turn the key off and continue along the road. I am pretty sure it is the speedo and if not, the speed sensor which fits into the trans.

nzangel1, Feb 7, 5:15am
That is odd,got me buggard. sounds like it would have to be electrical of some sort.

realtrader1, Feb 7, 7:00am
I seriously wouldn't have thought of the speedo. I was thinking cable and apparently some have the cable and some don't. It was when someone above suggested they had a problem with their electric speedo. It doesn't seem to be a major problem and it's not particularly loud and the speedo works fine it's just annoying. Some day I'll take the speedo out and do a swapatron. Correct me if I'm wrong intrade but sometimes I think it's handy to do so:)

gmphil, Feb 7, 12:35pm
