I cant help myself. They just keep coming. Weird urges that make me want to do crazy things. At times I feel like just defying all logic and just doing it. A 5.7L commy, a 4.7L jeep, the possibilities are endless. Perhaps an old Chev V8 impala. Book her up on the mortgage and to hell with sensible thinking. Then I give me self a slap up the ear hole and think. wooo, reign it in boy. Stick with the 2.L Mitisi Airtrek. It just makes sense. Arrghhh. Am I alone.

Probably not, but as we have more than just a daily driver, happy with - 3cyl, 4 cyl, 6 cyl and 8 cyl, so most urges satisfied.
On the other hand, due to unexpected medical issues that have hit us, 'Just do it'. You never know when you won't have the option.

I would like a nissan v8 transplanted into the wifes stagea but it really doesn't need it. I would like the turbo model of my mazda atenza because it barely has enough performance. They are not that peppy for a 2.3. Or i could just buy a newer/better car for the same money. I sometimes want a euro instead of a jappa but then my wife gives me a clip around the ear and I end up sticking to what I have got. Both cars are 15 years old and done heaps of kms but they are reliable and cheap to service.

I was looking at Chrysler 300's earlier tonight. I have no need for a big car, no great liking of American cars. but something about that sod it all attitude .

You are not alone. I love late model V8 Commodores. OK, plasticky, only average in the twisties, but Oh, that mid-range torque and the exhaust note.

I wanna put a 6.4 hemi in my LJ. But then my wife frowns at me bastardising our little GeM.
She is of course correct.
But the fun!
Seriously considering buying a POS one and Doing it or maybe RB25 DET. Just for shits n giggles

Certainly not! You may simply have reached the age where you go back to the "what the hell" attitude of a youthful male. Some call it a mid-life crisis, but often it becomes a "mid-wife crisis" during which you give away half your wealth while finding a new wife to repeat the process with in 5 years. If you can avoid that bit, then lashing out on a bit of self-indulgence is good for a man's mental health, helps retain his flagging youthful vigour, although it may finds new directions and is a lot less harmful than the Weinstein type urges. Go for it! We will all enjoy the ride with you, although you may need a larger garage.

I would like a medium size motor home price about $100,000 or close. We drive around the country stop for a break during the day where there is a view of something . But a night we stay in a motel don't sleep in the mobile. My wife said forget it.

Hubby misses the 'old days' when he had a garage and liked to fiddle round on engines and stuff. We can't really put a garage on this property it just wouldn't fit too well. He says he got a lot of enjoyment out the challenges involved in putting a Ford transit 2L v4 into his Anglia and later on was going to put Chrysler 360 into a Vauxhall victor, (crazy man), but didn't do that in the end. Still he says one day he'll get another garage/shed !

He's not the only crazy one. Years ago I had all the bits to put a V6 into an Austin A40 but got a crazy offer for the car so sold it. Wonder if it ever got done? Doubt it.

Having put a Rover V8 into the MG Magnette, it has been a hobby for years (started May 2004 - finally road registered February 2015) and has been the most expensive and most frustrating challenge of my life, but also the most enduring and enjoyable as the car is totally unique as every single change from standard (and there are 100's of them) has been what I wanted.
Cost 4 times the budget and took many years longer, but what the heck.

You are not grazy supernova2. That was normal behaviour once. Mate put a 3litre V6 into a 1956 Morris Oxford. He spent every weekend baiting the cops. One he could drive it and two, it was reasonably well sorted.

I've spent the last 30 years with an urge to buy a Porsche. Almost talked myself into it, couple more years and it's mine.
