Been away for the weekend and I get back to see things have improved.
Wow!

supern0va, Aug 6, 7:52pm
Somebody needs to organise a charity fight night and all the combatants can get in the ring. Would be more entertaining than a Parker fight no doubt.

First fight : Jazz vs Ema

Next: Tgray vs Meow

thunderbolt, Aug 6, 9:32pm
Agreed 100%!

I don't always agree with Jazz, but I seem to be able to read his posts without foaming at the mouth and turning into a keyboard warrior that must be heard.

ema1, Aug 6, 9:40pm
T.G. I am older too 65+ by quite a bit actually, but that's bye the bye.
OK then jazz can have the floor, the TMMB is pretty much gone to hell in a hand cart anyway, trying to make him see sense and just leave the Non Euro section of this board to their own devices is neigh on impossible and as berg said the other day . "He's the reason for so many leaving here and not posting anymore ! "
Zephyrheaven among many others went away in similar fashion frankly I don't blame those that have, I will like he keep our long hard earned knowledge to ourselves, that TMMB will be the worse for it, so be it . good bye. too many radicals here for me ?
Well I've had it up to here, I'm going to do what he did a while ago. NOT POSTING here again. that's it final.
Non Euro's interestingly enough don't require a long winded amount of "clap trap" to convince prospective new owners and those that have them already = the vast majority of folks.
I'll just let jazz gloat as much as he wants and you can bet there will be plenty of that, plus the bombing can continue un abaited as I couldn't care less anymore. so that's it . I'm outa here . permanently.
To some I commiserate but some others they can go right ahead and enjoy being "hoodwinked."!

ema1, Aug 6, 9:49pm
Jazz would be good at that. baffling with bullshit & lies to make a point. of pure propaganda in lots of cases . seems to be the outright winner right there. frankly I pity you folks on here.
Me . now I couldn't care less . enjoy. I've had enough . so long it's been good to know most of ya !

tsjcf, Aug 6, 9:53pm
Bit of a shame That Jazz has stuffed this MB i do enjoy it more when he disappears. I guess the Gap between Trade and public is to big for some to understand.

poppy62, Aug 6, 11:33pm
Another bridge vacated! Enjoy you Merc.

mrfxit, Aug 6, 11:55pm
All that Jazz needs to do it pretty much the same as everybody else should be doing.
Keeping postings short & to the point, ignore the stirrers & learn when to give up on a specific post.

I enjoy his short postings, but reading whole pages online is really not for me.

mrfxit, Aug 6, 11:57pm
Jazz isn't the only one with a perceived problem, plenty of other stirrers with different methods that cause more problems then a story book reading.

Remember that I have been here from the start of TM.
Seen it/ done a bit of it/ LEARNED fast/ seen plenty of other members vanish for various reasons.

mrfxit, Aug 6, 11:59pm
It's the personal attacks that make any forum rubbish.
Story books just make for hard reading & can easily be avoided

I couldn't agree more.

strobo, Aug 7, 2:44am
Just a bit of friendly advice you can take it or leave it, and I don't want to sound like an old age sage but try and come to the realization that it is not a real world situation in here .It is akin to reading a book and turning a page ,oh that;s informative or that isn't ,I agree with that or I don't or that's interesting or that isn't etc .I find is the best approach to these msge boards.Once it starts having negative affects in your real world situ then that is a problem.Get over the sentiments and take a holiday or take a walk from the message boards then come back feeling better. I'd like to see you and same for ema1 to keep the book open and personally I enjoy reading your posts .Cheers.

Why walk away? Your opinion is as valid as anyone else’s and people can disregard it if they so wish. I have read many of your contributions over the years and a great many of them are particularly pertinent and valuable.
Don’t let it get to you.

curlcrown, Aug 7, 4:39am
You make a good point but it's hard to sit back and watch first car buyers with no experience being advised to buy fiats and Volkswagens, while at the same time being told why they shouldn't buy Nissans or Toyotas.

jgoater, Aug 7, 4:55am
### This, in a nutshell ###

thearchnemesis7, Aug 7, 4:55am
Trade Me should add a feature that allows the OP to "blacklist" (Stop any user from posting on the thread they created).

thearchnemesis7, Aug 7, 4:59am
Like any forum on the Net though, you just have to sift out the good from the bad. Lots of great collective wisdom among the endless sea of garbage.

curlcrown, Aug 7, 5:58am
We must remember freedom of speech is important too.

gamefisher, Aug 7, 6:33am
You've been her on this MB almost as long as me I suspect you weren't surprised to expect this but at the same time threads like this clear the air, hopefully.

trogedon, Aug 7, 6:41am
Yeah, I've even given up correcting spelling mistakes (like psychology).

gamefisher, Aug 7, 6:42am
Don't go as we all have our off days where we say why bother but for me I always read what you post but often ignore others so hang in there and have a beer on me lol. Cheers.

extrayda, Aug 7, 8:59am
Still a good place to come for advice / read interesting stuff,
Some personalities just don't get along.

The Fiat guy (not mentioning names) is someone I would ask info from if I ever went to the dark side - I have even seen him recommending NOT to buy certain Euro models / drivetrains. He could maybe resist posting in threads that are requesting specific info on a Jap / Korean / etc. vehicle, as that seems to be where the battles start. I believe he would actually help out a VAG owner in need when he could.

I have once met Kaz, and he was super helpful and pleasant, as was his Mrs - definitely a genuine nice guy. Would happily buy a car from him.

ema1 - didn't realise you were that old. YAY, between you and TG I'm not the oldest for a change (not far behind TG though). TG - one day I will manage to say Hi at the Caffeine and Classics. I have missed the last several.

Most of the unpleasant stuff seems to be from frustration rather than anything else (or the odd newbie with Airbag issues ;-) ).

friendly_prawn, Aug 7, 9:31am
I really like you. I have found you to be helpful and kind. There are many nice people in this forum. I have found many willing to help. Some have helped in more ways than one. Im a little sad i have forgotten the user name of the person that gave me the free dashcam. Skull? something. If you're about mate, please put your hand up.

Kazbanz has physically helped me with some car issues I have had. I have driven over to his work shop / car yard where he has gone out of his way to help me. Full respect for being so kind.

The list goes on. Some of the advice alone I have recieved in here has saved me a out laying a lot of money.

You yourself T-gray has helped me with brilliant advice. Due to your advice i have found a garage I can really trust which was something I struggled with for years.

Like you I have met some real a'holes in here. Such is life mate. You cannot avoid scum. Sooner or later in life you will come across them. Its how you handle them defines the experience you'll have in dealing with them. You just got to learn to roll with the punches. 99% of the time I laugh off the nasties. Let them be offended. Let them be the ones that are offended. Laugh it off and move on. Let water off a ducks back be your motto. Easy to say and yes some times hard to do. But only you can choose to be offended or not to be.

marree, Aug 7, 10:41am
tgray (Toby) - I can understand and I'm sorry you feel this way. After reading through, I think there are many others who would agree "you shouldn't hang up your boots", as your comments / recommendations on here seem to be very much appreciated. In the past I have enquired on here for advice - I recall your advice, along with others on here, which has been well advised and very professional.

socram, Aug 7, 7:14pm
I'm even older (won't see 70 again. ) but as a long time self employed (40+years), nowadays work has effectively dried up as most companies I have dealt with up and down the land have closed or buy from China and so I miss the interaction with others.

The message boards are my smoko room/water cooler substitue, often whilst waiting for the scanner to plod its way through the thousands of negatives and slides I'm trying to digitise.

There are idiots and there are the wise. There are the trolls and humourless but there are also the wags. We don't have to agree with anyone and we are all entitled to an opinion, so most of us pop into the threads we are interested in and ignore the rest.

Some just seem to ask for a response by their inane stance, but if there is a car problem, this is as good a place as any to elicit a response.

I'll be away overseas again in a fortnight, but even when travelling, if internet access is free, it's worth popping in now and again.
