Hi do you still do wrist watch repairs thanks len

vtecintegra, Sep 29, 5:57am
If the Punto is an 'auto' I'd pass - it's probably the most unpleasant thing I've ever driven (admittedly it had the 8v engine but I don't think more power would have helped much)

Oh it's nearly birthday time for this thread :o)

It is kinda surprising just how much room there is in some small cars all the same. You do not of course get a huge boot or bonnet etc etc in a small car, but cabin space can be surprising when you do get in. I'm not 6' 10" (the new 6'4") or even close so I have never struggled with smaller cars lol. Mind you a mate who is kinda huge found a Focus acceptable in the cabin, he brought a VF though. Just tonight we took one 5'9" one 6' and a 5' 4" pack of teenagers for a trip in the IST, they all sat in the back with out too much discomfort at all and still managed to txt etc.

It's almost the anniversary for this thread, hey troggie what did you hire for that weekend?

trogedon, Oct 10, 3:07am
We're hiring a car for a weekend. We just want small - for us, our two boys and some luggage. I'm thinking a two door Getz wouldn't have any less room than a 4 door Punto.

saxman99, Oct 10, 3:17am
Are you doing this on purpose?

kazbanz, Oct 10, 3:17am
Punto IMO

extrayda, Oct 10, 5:13am
You should all be on bikes surely?

trogedon, Oct 10, 5:24am
In an ideal world. but.

a.woodrow, Oct 10, 5:56am
Hire the punto. Slightly more room + safer with 4 doors

whqqsh, Oct 10, 7:02am
our Punto has more rear seat leg room than modern Falcons & Commodores. Surprising how roomy it is

trouser, Oct 10, 8:27am
no it doesn't.

whqqsh, Oct 10, 3:31pm
Ive sat in the back of all three, previous company had Dunnydores & 'coons as reps cars, so I speak from personal experience. I was amazed how lacking in leg room they are for so called 'big' cars. We picked up a couple of friends from the airport recently in the wifes Fiat & we left the women in the front to catch up & my mate commented how roomy the back seat was compared to his XR6 back home

the-lada-dude, Oct 10, 6:52pm
there's even enough room in the back for a jazz band and piano, eh ?

whqqsh, Oct 10, 7:17pm
maybe not that much but will hold a rubber band. & the other depends on the size of your pianist

trouser, Oct 10, 7:36pm
I owned a grand Punto and an au3 coon at the same time. With the Punto drivers seat in my driving position I could just squeeze my legs into the back seat. In the coon there was room between my knees and the front seat back.

whqqsh, Oct 10, 10:13pm
depends on the year I suppose, wifes new (or rather bought new end of 2015) is different design than older models & when parked beside her old Mk3 Golf VR6 was much bigger

monaro17, Oct 10, 11:14pm
yea utter rubbish haha

the ve commodore (and vf) has one of the largest back seats and knee room of any car in its class world wide. Incident the falcon feels a lot smaller inside but is good too. We went up to See a show in Auckland a year or so back and hired a Punto and the rear seat room was very average.

I also note that every new commodore and falcon model had more legroom than the previous models so that is not a factor

whqqsh, Oct 11, 12:37am
Id rather believe my own experiences than what the advertising blurb tries to tell you.
I do find it amusing that people come on here relating actual real life observations & others will declare them to be totally wrong. & often get quite tetchy because their chosen brand isn't all things to everyone else

monaro17, Oct 11, 2:20am
OK then. But I wouldn't judge people's preference on their trade me username. In my experience there is no comparison in the leg room but hey we all have differing perspectives. At the time I had a VE commodore sport Wagon and we rented a Punto (HZF. plate) 14,000kms. It was really average in rear legroom and had undeniable less room anywhere in the cabin than my then commodore.

monaro17, Oct 11, 2:31am
Op. The Puntohas a lot more room than the getz and Iis a far nicer car too. The getz is also awfully underpowered especially when loaded with people.

Go for the punto

Jazz will be getting the warm fuzzies reading this in between warming up pies.

trogedon, Oct 11, 3:00am
Our boys are only 10 & 12 so the more important this is the space between the back seat and the hatch.

kazbanz, Oct 11, 3:43am
troggy-jes a thought -why not bring yer tape measure when next out on the treddlie?
