I think it's about time I had a little more respect and admiration from you guys These attributes are earned by meritorious deeds

Best option I see is to use the Lada to break some world motoring records . Any ideas ? .

It's real hard on the respect side of things when you're in a Lada and I'm looking at you from my Merc. Maybe playing the Pity/sympathy card is a better option. There again a bold statement from you about the Lada being the (ahem!) "Best car ever made" should attract a world record number of comments.

Nah Bill! too much frontal wind resistance. It would even be slow falling/ pushed/ driven off a cliff.

Mate bought a new Niva
Was out on his farm with him getting firewood, towing trailer
We got to a very muddy patch in the bush
I got out, walked ahead & back to the Niva,
told him Nah, too wet you will never get through there
He drove through it easy as

Went hunting once on a Club get together and we had to get through a bog hole to get to the camp site my Land Rover SWB 161 Holden powered and a Lada Niva were the only two that got through unassisted. Incidentally I had the old noisy Dunlop 850*16" triple traction mud tyre on best mud tyre ever built.

But under the rocker cover still the same eight valves.
