Let me get this straight, you are first complaining that they used to do nothing, and now that they are apparently doing something it must be because of a hidden agenda, and of course therefore worthy of complaint.

I though that point was made pretty clear. For decades, NZTA refused to lower speed limits around obvious danger area's such as schools & then in the last two years, they are going wholesale blanket lowering of speed limits all over the country including urban streets with no history of problems but are near schools & open road sections that have never had a problem but are between problem area's that are a few km's between or rural backroads that are a bit twisty & each example probably only had a couple of crashes in the last decade.
Std "Feast or Famine" situation. Deny theres a problem then go nuts with more regulation changes
