The 'I've never seen anyone crash well.' ad?

Yea those energy drinks do that a lot when they run out

socram, Jul 1, 4:34am
Stil trying to work out how a modern car with ABS left skid marks that long - and still went over a bank.

Bring back the Peter Brock ads. Remember them?

alowishes, Jul 1, 5:02am
I haven’t seen the ‘speed kills’ ad?

alowishes, Jul 1, 5:04am
Sliding sideways?

stevo2, Jul 1, 5:14am

alowishes, Jul 1, 5:28pm
All I heard him say on that was “maybe a few less ks might have changed the outcome”
Never heard an outright ‘speed kills’ comment/claim

TV NEWS READERS

Nothing worse than listening to a news reader with vocal fry!
Surely a TV station can sort this problem out!

mrfxit, Jul 1, 8:10pm
Started braking hard on . . . .gravel/ sideways / sopping wet road / ice?

patxyz, Jul 1, 9:28pm
Why does he keep taking his hat off?

socram, Jul 2, 4:29am
Only two skid lines, not four and usually, people have started braking before the apex, even if going too fast and more often that not, they are part way through the corner before going sideways. Those lines appear to be at the beginning of the corner - probably painted on.

If there was ice, or even wet, I doubt there would be skid marks.

mrfxit, Jul 2, 4:35am
.
Mm good points.
Not seen the add for awhile

intrade, Jul 2, 4:42am
only way to learn how to propper drive is in a manual with real clutch where you say what gear the car stays in.

intrade, Jul 2, 4:45am
i would say thats a gesture to the dead you know i dont know if i learned that from movies or what .

framtech, Jul 5, 5:06am
Isn't most of crashes caused by crossing the center line and smashing into a truck, caused by falling sleep, being drunk or being young.
shit adds that make you change channel.
All part of the communist brainwashing done by bureaucrats in this country to fool the stupid. truth is Keep left and let fast traffic past instead of being a dick.

laurelanne, Jul 5, 6:16am
That last sentence is spot on hydroplane.

nice_lady, Jul 5, 6:25pm
Ok. So, for what reason ? What they gain by this ?

heisei28, Jul 5, 6:49pm
I've crashed well.
At the age of 15 I was driving on the side of the road for fun.
I turned into the road, hit loose stuff and went careening straight across into a ditch. 5m in front of an oncoming truck. Poor bastard got a fright.

Only three years ago I was going through the Karangahake gorge.
Being a newish sports car I was not used to the adaptive shift and previous to that I had been driving the car like I stole it.
One small pump on the gas to keep moving and the car hit some black ice and it shot me across the road into the cliff side, put the arse end up off the road by 2m next to a drainage hole.
Slow enough and terrifying enough to see the oncoming vehicle round the corner and slow to a stop. I thought I was a dead man.

A few months later I was leaving Waihi toward Tauranga and some overtaking on the corner asshole overtook a ute and trailer on the corner as we approached. He was going too fast, I put the car into the ditch to avoid him. Must have missed each other by at least a metre but it felt like less.
At the point of missing each other I was halfway into the ditch already.
I really thought I was a goner then.

We had a SAR callout for motorists missing from a crash into a flooded river south of TeKuiti. sadly we recovered one body, then the car was salvaged. this all over a weekend.Police divers came on the Monday, their boat is in the river,to look for the remaining missing person. They find another car submerged in the same place,2 guys had gone off the corner on the sunday night and both were deceased. They found the missing person about a week later . downstream. This corner now has a big armco barrier.

to justify the tax take from speed camera's and police mobile highway patrol, tax collection cars.

framtech, Jul 6, 2:59am
yes it is really scary stuff to think someone like you is on the roads, I suggest you and others who can't drive, take public transport for your own safety and the safety of others. this is why we pay excessive petrol tax to pay for cheese cutter barriers. Driving is a serious job that requires skill and concentration. If everyone sat on 100kph people wouldn't be passing all the time and turning the job into Russian roulette, I travel over 60,000 klm a year and can't believe how slow and dangerous people are the minute a few bends turn up, and the bullshit of slow driving and then turning passing lanes in drag strips so no one can pass (trucks included).

muppet_slayer, Jul 6, 3:07am
If you think our ads are bad take a look at this one from overseas (Ireland I think).

WARNING! it is graphic and shows a group of children being crushed

socram, Jul 6, 4:18am
Hs anyone actually realised how dumb a notice merely saying 'SLOW DOWN' really is?

From what speed? To what speed?

Assuming some are doing 75kph on the open road, which appears to be the maximum for some numpties anyway, are they still expected to SLOW DOWN?

How about adverts about using mirrors? Looking ahead? Only braking on the straights? Keeping left? Negotiating roundabouts? Using the turn signals? Checking the tyres for damage/wear/pressure? Lane discipline? Following distances?

mrfxit, Jul 6, 4:34am
Looking ahead, understanding whats happening & paying attention to what you see there, before you get there would have to be one of the most important observational skills.
Saves me from many "incidents", plus fuel & brake pads

mk3crazy, Jul 7, 10:25pm
Ads like the one here just treats the public like we are all morons and that guy or police man who ever he is on this ad talks like he is super 🦸♀️ hero and thinks he can save the world 😂 😂 😂

bill-robinson, Jul 8, 8:42pm
he is an actor, he must put his image out as often as possible.
