And speed. Can i explain for a second. With speed, one of two things will happen, either the car will fall off the road on the corrext side of the road, or it will go into what is called a "yaw". Once i to a yaw, the car cannot be recovered and the driver is just holding on for the road. The result will generally end in a side impact or a front corner impact with violent rotation. Generally seen on more high speed roads though.

Correct and what is worse is stability control will correct this so you gain higher speed overall when you finally crash and burn. so to speak

more commonly known as a slide and these are recovable by good drivers. modern morons who trust the car do so at their own peril. why i do not agree with some of the modern "toys" or gimics on cars.

meant to add on the above thread this 'yaw' is also seen in drifting but that is competition

Huge difference between an over speed slide & an induced slide. Not a lot can be done with an over speed slide till you scrub off some of that speed
bill-robinson,

and 'that' is called being able to drive instead of being a modern 'steerer'

Damn right.

Sadly ‘steerers’ outnumber ‘drivers’.
And frequently don’t even do a very good job of steering.

Something that is both annoying and bloody dangerous as trucks get more powerful, is the absolute moronic driving by so called professional truck drivers is, Their behaviour on passing lanes on roads like the Napier - Taupo and other tricky roads that are killing heaps. Their top speed is 90 kph and cars 100 kph but 50% of these dick heads gun it to block out cars from passing instead of backing off and letting everyone get past, the worst ones at this are empty logging trucks and the line haul truck and trailer units. I don't care if they need to chop it down a couple of gears etc, road safety and preventing death is more important than being a couple minutes late and being the big boy, these cowboy truckers know their rigs blind everybody in wet weather with their tire pumping and blind everyone at night with 400 look at me lights and penis cab light aerials. Some drivers are excellent and are professional but the few are bloody dangerous, yep there are a lot of dumb arse car steerers out there, but they don't really effect others like trucks, campers and those towing.

and you hear the truckies saying " it takes a long time to stop these big rigs " . well if you cant pull a truck up to avoid an incident then why the hell is the machine allowed on the road ? .

I have seen & done this. Sliding off the road to park beside a fence & then drive away. Driving over a 2m bank late at night on to someones lawn & drive away down their driveway.
Woman I know slide off the road on a corner, went down between several small trees & stopped about 15 meters off the road. Not a single mark on the car

Saw a Subaru Legacy full with a family and camping stuff on the roof. heading south here google maps reference. (-35.3620883, 174.0911217) before the Armco was there maybe 16-18 years ago. bounced on the railway tracks went straight ahead absolutely hauling, off the road Airborne cleared the fence did a big loop in the long grass drove strait out an open gate, laughing gave us the thumbs up and didn’t even stop. If he’d tried to turn it even a little bit it would have been a big crash. He had no visible damage in the brief look we got. I’d say he crashed well.

Awww, not even skid marks? You're quite right about the smashed black car scene, but the other scenes (holey fence and car dangling off crane) seem to have been recorded elsewhere!

First time I saw it. I thought the broken barrier scene was in the hills between Waihi and Whiritoa. Not so sure now though.
