Either can perform. Pick to suit your application, no way would I want to be lugging about a V8 on my rally car but the cheapest way to do a 1/4 still seems to be a good ol blown 8cyl if you pick your parts right. You can drive it home at the end of the night and it will have road manners, 400+hp in a juicebox size 4cyl tends to be peaky and not as fun.
Not everyone that drives a honda is some riceboy. I tend to drive mine like a demented mental patient and normally gets heads turning just cause I have it so wound up screaming its nuts off, sets impressive times to.
