yep a fine AND 35 demerit points. Standard penalty for conviction for careless use of a motor vehicle.Interestingly i have found out it is pretty much the fall back charge they use when it is not readily apparent that there is any other cause for the incident - and they dont usually spend too much time investigating it if there is no injuries
