Careless driving is only a fine usually anyway. If you were not speeding (they will measure skids and check out the scene to determine things), and no one else was injured then you will not lose your license even if charged anyway.

well you may get lucky, however my crash resulted in a conviction for careless use of a motor vehicle, 1100 fine AND 35 demerit points, which the lawyer told me is standard for this charge (the points not the fine, that can vary)

You won't be charged but you will get a fine. as Mellisa2000 just said. I had a mate who u turned straight into a parked car and wrote off his and the parked car. Police sent him the ticket in the mail and that was the end of it( after he paid)

cop turned up at my house this morning at 7.30am and woke me up. had a piece of paper in his hand.im going to court in january, cop said ill probly just get a fine. im going to go get free advice tomorrow night coz i got no idear how to handle this stuff lol.
