That won't cost them anything - they'll sell them at auction. No comeback.

foxdonut, Nov 23, 3:45pm
Oh wow, what a sad story. that really tugs at my heart strings. I'm so distraught that I think I might need to take a week off work to mourn. What a life altering experience this must have been for you, I sincerely hope you are eventually able to move on from such a horrible turn of events.

Stay strong, remember, it can only get better from here on.

tigra, Nov 23, 3:58pm
I bet $3500 is more than you would get from a dealer as a trade in.

curlcrown, Nov 23, 3:59pm
It would be foolish to expect them to pay you what its worth. Would you work for free!

trogedon, Nov 23, 4:06pm
He's just saying.not moaning about the offer.

kazbanz, Nov 23, 4:20pm
LMAO--you are kidding aintcha! this is turnersno comeback auctions we are talking about.

pollymay, Nov 23, 5:01pm
Then don't take the money! You either use the service or not, no point saying they're thieves or whatever cause I know I've lowballed many people.

mopeds, Nov 23, 5:31pm
Yes it hasn't been easy for us, I've got until Friday to decide whether to except it, big decision.

franc123, Nov 23, 5:43pm
The simple answer to this is to get some appraisals from dealers, all you have to do is pretend you are interested in trading it on something retailing for say $9995-11995 and see what they say.You will find out quickly whether Turners offer is a good one or not.

tigertim20, Nov 23, 5:56pm
that is the thing that people usually forget. just because there are several other vehicles the same as yours advertised at that price, does not mean that they are actually worth that price.

mopeds, Nov 23, 5:57pm
I was thinking a round $4000 and I would have taken it, but $3500 is too low for such a mint example, the turners agent also mentioned that the GTI's sell for less than the standard golf.bizzare

thejazzpianoma, Nov 23, 6:16pm
I had thought about them being auctioned and the "not comeback" scenario but I still think they will get their share of curly ones. stuff that becomes apparent after they have handed over the cash but before its auctioned.

Not necessarily just vehicle faults either, possible ownership disputes and all sorts of fun and games.

friendly_prawn, Nov 23, 6:18pm
one things I'll say about turners, before trademe started really hurting them, they used to have some good deals. I bought some real bargains off them through their auctions.

exwesty, Nov 23, 6:54pm
How many Kms!

tgray, Nov 23, 9:37pm
A year ago, I was 'talked' into putting my exc cond 1999 impreza 160K's in Turners for no reserve. Big mistake! it sold for $2000, less commission, I netted $1600 and had turned down $3500 the weekend before. True story.

foxdonut, Nov 23, 9:57pm
Are you people stupid! Turners is not a charity.

n1smo_gtir, Nov 23, 10:18pm
ouch! lesson learnt!

74nova, Nov 24, 5:03am
And if you had a standard Golf he would have said the opposite.

carmedic, Nov 24, 6:57am
Thats unlike you Jaz!

vmare, Nov 24, 7:08am
So sell it yourself unless you want the convienience of cash now. Don't think you can compare the trade-in price a dealer would offer they have room to move on the vehicle they are pushing to sell also.

fordluva, Nov 24, 8:17am
if you consider it so cheap, list it here with a $3500 reserve or even the $4k you say youd be happy with and no buy now, see what happens. run a 5 day auction and have the money within a week.

3tomany, Nov 24, 8:31am
unless its not worth 4k then he will have no money but still be the owner of a mint golf

volkier, Nov 24, 10:44am
If they are here for 5-7k, 3.5k at turners cash now sounds very reasonable. Like someone said, they may have faults, Turners WOULD STILL need to sell them to make a profit (wheres the ones on here would go straight to the person) etc. etc.

Not quite sure what point the OP was trying to make.

executive17, Jul 15, 2:51pm
It Doesn't matter what i say, There will always be people who think the worst out of the auction system and think were there to rip them off

executive17, Jul 15, 2:55pm
Quite often we have regular bidders they will give you a nod instead of holding there hand high for others to see and people seem to sit all over the place and don't want to mingle with the crowd in the seats, can be frustrating some days to spot there bid
