We don't sell the vehicles you inspect them and decide if you want to attend the auction process and purchase or keep looking

Are turners paying you to be on here!

My profession is pretty well known around here. I resent dealing with an "organisation" who holds themselves above the law. Joe and Bill Import cars. Joe and Bill sell cars to the public. Yet Bill because his sir name is "turner" can avoid all obligations under the CGA and SOGA. He is also pushing for every other retailer but Bill to have to sell cars no matter how old and cruddy with full cover under the CGA. I guess "bill" cant handle the competition. For the record Hadies will freeze over before I consighn a trade in to Turners or purchase a vehicle from Turners

You almost sound like a car dealer, im not going to play tit for tat, you are entitled to your opinion and that is welcome, Talk to your local MP about CGA if you are unhappy.

Fair enough mate its only your right to sell cars, today we will get rid of turners then trademe next
kazbanz,
Jul 15, 3:40pm
Heck Im more thanhappy for TM to stay. Its Turners carefully manuvering so they are the ONLY organisation exempt from the CGA and SOGA that irks me. Why should one company import cars and be allowed to sell exclusive of the CGA and another not!

Don't want trademe gone, Turners have vehicles also for sale on there covered by CGA as they are classifieds and not auctions " Buy Now "

We have both bought and sold at Turners. It suited our purpose at the time.We also buy and sell on TM when that suits our purpose.I don't believe Turners to be a rip off its simply a business which exists to make a profit for it's shareholders and as far as i know it's not a charity.I do however have a problem with their attempts to be exempt from the rules.

executive, you work for turners right!, would you care to read the other thread 'turners xxxx a while back', and comment

we bought a car through turners auction after seeing it on trademe. everything went smoothly. i also bought a car through trademe via classified as private sale. this also went smoothly. to call them rip off is a bit harsh. i mean you pay turners fee for the venue, all the overheads they have to cover and the convenience of been under one roof to test drive as many cars as it interests you. no pressure to buy whatsoever. whereas on trademe, you'd have to drive to different sellers home to view. alot of sellers on here don't even allow you to test drive and alot of day dreamers on here too asking rediculous prices. i'm not for or against turners, they are just another venue for convenience, you can bid on one car and if it falls through and goes over your budget, you can bid on your next favourite.

Seems to me people are blaming Turners for the CGA.bit odd.

Something I have never understood about Turners is why they deregister motorbikes with only superficial damage (fairings, minor scrapes, bent levers.that sort of stuff). All this does is create an expensive PITA for any potential buyer.
smac,
Jul 16, 6:17am
So when you asked them, what did they say!
kazbanz,
Jul 16, 6:21am
THAT is not and never will be the decision of Turners. That is the decision of the insurance company that own the bike. By deregistering the bike the new owner is forced to get a complete and indepth examination carried out by a motorcycle engineer. Ie an INSURANCE wright off is different from a lapsed rego

Ii don't understand why people get upset when they get offered low prices for cars, all they have to do is say no.
kdcentralni,

Your sales people (at turners) need to be on the floor more helping people and answearing their questions - know their stock and try and close some deals. The perception is every car is there because it has fualts etc. The only guys you see are the key guy conegie (sp), treat it like a car yard basically that is what it is.

The Turners "buyers premium" of ~ $200 or so on a cheapie car (haven't looked, so that's an approximate figure) used to be $10 and provided exactly the same "service".
